[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

Armor too!!

I don't know why Bungie are dropping the ball with this. Why spend countless hours of development time making all those weapons and armour sets only for them to be forgotten about when the next dlc hits. Like who the -blam!- is in charge there? Ronald McDonald?!

Played the VOG the other day, that was the most fun ive ever had in this game so far! Been so long since i did a raid!

Bump all day. My fatebringer is my favorite gun and my vex isn't far off. I can buy some piece of shit pulse rifle from the vangaurd with more damage than my EXOTIC VEX THAT I grinded for months to get...?

Edited by TuTone: 2/1/2015 2:57:12 AMI think the fairest way to do this would be instead of just letting you upgrade the weapons you have, make a higher level VoG that drops the higher attack weapons. It'll make running the raid relevant again.

Bump, I'd love to see how the Praedyths revenge and atheons epilogue would do, Idontcare have Fatebringer or voc yet. Hoping to get them and hope they aren't outdated by the time they drop for me
-
Yes and a 32 harder mode for VOG

Then people would trash Crota weapons. It would make Crota's end pointless besides crux of crota.

Well you see the problem with the whole entire idea is that you should not even be able to make an early game raid be just as useful and give you equivalent rewards as a future. Doing this not only defeats the point of game progression but also defeats the point of the benefits of new content. For instance at the beginning of a game you go through the first dungeon that's level 10 and you get a level 10 sword (like the fatebringer) and the only point that the weapon serves you is to beat the boss of that dungeon and to help you to the next one. When you become level 50 why should you be using the first sword you got? You shouldn't, you should be using the new weapons you get from the new dungeons/raid Because if they upgrade them, what would would be the point of using new weapons if they aren't stronger. This is why they won't do it, because in leveling up, MMO style like games you can't keep buffing raid rewards. The previous weapons should be deemed useless in the next dlc because that's how progression works. In a few more raids from now everyone will be using weapons and gear that are way stronger than the first raid and no one should be able to use first raid/dungeon gear to carry them through late game raids/dungeons. You just cannot do that, it defeates the game as a whole.

I got patience and time from VOG last night and it goes to 331.
-
even though that number really doesn't mean anything I agree
-
Petition. My clothes from 10 years old should somehow be reworked to fit me as an adult.
-
Then what would be the point of the new raid? This post is completely redundant. If you want to up the power of the VOG then make it at least a little bit higher then what it is. 310 for the weapons, and 33 light for the armor
-
MYTHOCLAST TO 331 LETS DO IT BUNGIE :D
-
Commendations. Like motes and coins (shards and energies alike) are becoming abundant and irrelevant. If commendations could some how (5 or so commendations) upgrade one legendary item at a time from a specific vendor, it would give them more use. I'm beginning to have over 20, and have 0 reason to use them at this point. A problem is clearly present with these.

Bump again. Let us upgrade our vog guns!
-
Why is bungie purposely making their own content obsolete? I really don't get it other than getting people to buy the DLC
-
My personal opinion is that it'll come out with house of wolves or plague of comet dlc...one or the other
-
No. Just no. Vog weapons aren't irrelevant they're just not the best. And they shouldn't be. Vog still offers chances at exotics unless you have all the exotics you want you should be doing vog.
