To make 70k a year in military you have to be there quite some time.

At the end of the day America has a volunteer military. It's the individuals choice whether or not to join. The pay isn't high but there's few higher callings.
-
May because some people like traveling and having something new to do in their life's. Or just don't care about money It's not that hard of a concept.
-
Obviously being a developer is waaaaayyy better then going to the military!!! Lets be honest, dudes join the military cuz they got nothing else going on in there life, theyre boarderline bums in my opinion, never met someone that has a bright future and instead of going to med school, or law school or a prestigious college, they say no im joining the military?!!! That just doesnt happen... So in shorty stay in school folks, udont wanna be uncle sams henchman

Couldn't pay me enough money to join the military.
-
I've been in for 15 years active army. I mean you can sit behind a desk and write code or whatever it is your gonna do, OR you can join the military, find a signal / public affairs job and get all your training for free and collage as well. Then you can get out after whenever and find a job that'll pay you more than a starting salary because you have experience in the job field your askin for. Just sayin

I enlisted in America's Navy in 2005 and haven't looked back since then. The reason I joined was an obligation I felt to my country. My reasoning was that so many other men and women before me served their country and many paid the ultimate sacrifice so why shouldn't I serve at least one enlistment? At worst, I would have served 5 years and gotten out but the Navy is actually one of the best things to have happened to me. Not only did I grow up from an 18 year old kid into who I am now, I'm learning and perfecting a skill set I'll be able to take to the civilian sector. And before I get any wise-ass comments about handling line, painting, ect. I'll add that for the 10 years I've been in, I've worked on nothing but the electrical system of the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet which is a product of Boeing. After I get out with my degree in Aeronautical Science, by all accounts, I should have a foot in the door at any aviation based company. With all of this being said, tell me how I've wasted my time again? I fail to grasp your logic.....

This is cool... 1. OP is clearly a homosexual 2. OP is probably.......... 17 3. OP has such a big sloppy mouth - it's getting tea bagged for sure BTW - Semper Fi!

Joining the United States military is a complete waste of time and money; all you to is go to Muhammadland and either get shot or go batshit insane with post traumatic stress only to fight for a bunch of liberal asswipes that hate your guts and just smoke weed and take the money you SHOULD be earning for joining the Armed forces.
-
lol, 6-8 years of college, then you have the possibility to make that. That is not a promised wage. The military is a promised wage, and a free ride to college plus paid wages while attending college. Yea you tell me who made the better life choice. Me, who is debt free, or you.

Hook.Line.Sinker... Or wait, was this a spinner bait? Fly?
-
The military should almost be a calling, you don't join it to become rich.
-
Then don't join the military. It's no big deal.
-
Why did you bring up the military then? No one is forcing you to get a career in the military.
-
It's not about money. For most it's a greater purpose in living. I'd rather die fighting for what I believe in then dying in a bed.
-
Not sure if this post is sarcastic. If sarcastic: OP is fgt. If not: OP is extra super duper fgt.
-
Ahem.. Ever heard of military benefits and stuff? That alone is worth a lot.
-
Why waste my time in the military ?
Could have stopped right there.
-
I don't think anyone joins the military to make money
-
Stay in the private sector and don't sell out to any government garbage. Those are for people that are too weak to compete in private sector.
-
Well being in the military isn't much about the pay
-
Then be a software developer.
-
We need people to protect your company that you work at and I'm not joining the U.S. Army for the money I'm joining to serve my country and protect those who reside within it
-
I don't care about making money. Sure it's a nice treat, however I want a life to proudly claim as my own and I won't find that by sitting behind a computer screen my whole life. Besides the military is a great opportunity for lower class persons to move up in the world.
-
I would have loved to join the military, being 19 obviously I can still easily join, but for what purpose? Our government and country is so -blam!-ed up at this point why go out and help them destroy other peoples lives? To protect my family? Joining the military is the opposite of that. I join and get stationed over seas, terrorist attack on U.S. soil, family in danger and where am I? Across an ocean. I'd rather get a gun license, by a sniper and shotgun and wait till the enemy comes to my front door. Then I will happily protect my loved ones by their side.

Someones gotta protect the people

BEGINNING TRANSMISSION: (Low melodious hum.) It's a career not suitable for everyone. My bother is out still, but when we do get to talk money isn't on our minds. ENDING TRANSMISSION:
