Don't be silly, this would be far too logical.

How about a system that: Looks at what your wearing, or what you have work/equipped recently, and DOESN'T give you another of those. IE: I have two sets of shoulders on my titan from the raid and two sets of boots for my warlock. Identical. Here is how I would implement randomized loot. Your chance of loot is .. 1% exotic 3% legendary 5% rare 10% uncommon Every time you loot an exotic chest/event if you dont get one, your precent goes up a little. *I believe this is how its supposed to be implemented. When you get an exotic,. your chance goes back to start. However, Last week I got lucky enough (first drops since the expansion) to get something amazing. The shit hole no land beyond, and then my luck hit again when I got the shit hole dragons breath. *WHILE they are available to purchase. *I have plenty of coins for purchase had I wanted them) *seems to be happening to a LOT of people I should be able to 'decline' loot and have a boost to % go back into my chance of getting an exotic. Or at least not reset my chance. Because getting the crappy of crappiest exotics that are no better than a vendor bought legendary is rediculous. Exotics that are worse than legendaries shouldnt even exist in my opinion. The point of an exotic is that it is somethign so rare and powerful you are willing to forgo all other exotics to use it. But I digress. It shouldn't guarantee I get an exotic that I want, but it shouldn't reset or hurt my chances towards the exotic I want either. I should be able to 'decline' legendary or exotic drops (and then offer them to someone else in my group) if I dont need/want them. If THEY accept the item, their % chance for a drop goes back to default. This doesn't break their 'no trading' initiative. It doesnt add additional loot to the game. The only thing is breaks is the 'lets piss off the players as much as we can initiative.' What (many) people don't understand about randoms and staticstics is that your chance to succeed does not go up each time you fail. For example, if I flip a coin 100 times and its heads every time, the chance that the coin will be tails next toss are 50/50. You can change the way the statistic works by changing the scenario (Whats the chance ill flip this coin 100 times and it will be heads each time? NOT 50/50) This is why so many people pay attention to roulet wheel history and lose their asses. So if you have say a 1% chance of getting an item, and you don't, your chance of getting it (without artificially increasing your chance) is still only 1%. It is always 1%. It doesn't go up. This is where the RNG fails many people. And helps others. *Computer generated randoms aren't truly random. But none of this matters, except the point: Increase the CHANCE each time you fail bungie, and allow us not to reset our CHANCE when you give us Crotas Enima (exotic secondary) as a reward.
