Seriously, this makes too much sense. It's literally a win-win.
All the people too cheap to buy DLC don't get double locked out, and the rest of us don't get terribly bored running the same strike six times a week (at minimum).
So please Bungie: make the weekly and nightfall different strikes
(The "too cheap" comment was done in jest, I realize there's numerous reasons people don't want, or can't, buy the expansion.)
Edit: Appreciate the support guys, seems like we're pretty much in universal agreement. Hopefully this gets passed along to the Devs.

Yeah Makes sense
-
This or give us the heroic reward for doing nightfall so we don't have to grind the same strike 6 times. I'd also prefer it to be a different strike though. Could make it really interesting and make it RNG the strike and modifiers when you launch. That way you have to be prepared for anything.
-
Agree! However, once House of Wolves comes out then there is a chance for non-DLC'ers to be double locked out - my bet is that week 1 it would happen through "RNG" :P
-
Would be nice... I also get tired of the same strike 6 times... especially when there is no weapon burn
-
Said since day 1
-
Yes. Been thinking this for awhile. Repeating the same 6 strikes once a week is dumb. Also I often help people on my friends lists a few times so it ends up being 8 or 9. Such a simple idea, makes so much sense.
-
Bungie Do your job better.
-
They ahould make the final mission a Nightfall Strike
-
1000000000% yes. So tired of doing the same strike over and over
-
So what you're saying you don't want to fight Rockets McDickface more than once a week?
-
ADD MATCHMAKING. That is all. These Nightfalls and Weeklys aren't near as hard as Bungie is led to believe. Come, no matchmaking even for the Weekly?
-
Signed.
-
I've been saying this forever. It's dumb to make us run the same strike twice in a week anyway. Terrible idea all around.
-
Aye. When you've smashed the nightfall the last thing you want is same again for the weekly and as you say it gives those without dlc at least half of the big(ger than usual) reward activities.
-
I just said this the other day to a buddy after we had done Omnigul like 5 times in a row it's absurd that they are the same
-
-
i dont think so its like step by step for people that arent good enough to just jump in the night fall but it would be cool i guess
-
No. I hate variety. It gets too unpredictable. They need to make things more repetitive. I wish they would actually reduce the number of strikes. Maybe to just one or two in the whole game. This way we can get use to them and get some good tactics and strategies going. Variety is not what destiny is about #change is bad #sarcasm
-
I thought this too if only to changed it up and let you have two different weekly activities. Bump this
-
Agreed, last week Omnigul for nightfall, Omnigul for weekly, Omnigul for Erin Guest and guess what comes up as firts strike in ROC....
-
100% agree.
-
This is the simple shit that blows my mind as to why Bungie can't get it right in the first place.
-
I agree!!!
-
The the nightfall this week?
-
I hope this happens soon. I don't understand why they are the same strike in the first place.
-
Can't hurt
