2.0.1 Update! - some new pics
I decided to make the 2.0 version out of much heavier steel. The 1/4" thick 1.0 version just seemed too lightweight compared to the images and specs for the in game weapon. So... I went for a full 3/8" thick plate steel to start with.
I am VERY happy with the look at feel of the thicker knife. It has a greater presence in person and when you hand it to someone they say... holy crap! It weighs 2lbs 5oz... a monster. While it is just a prop and the edge is not sharp, I hesitate to consider the damage this thing would do. I suspect a strong arm could put it right through a car door.
Next I need to make a cool display stand for it.

What do you think of the 2.0 version?
So I had decided I was going to make a Hunter's Knife.
No, not plastic, resin or MDF...
Steel...
I went with 1/4" Cold Rolled Steel but I think I want to go 5/16. Its a little over 16" long. I scaled it back a tiny bit but it is still HUGE. The actual specs look like 7/16 but that is INSANE.
Hole in the blade and the last one in the handle are a bit too big and I am still tinkering with finish ideas. I kinda rushed it out of the shop as it was getting cold and late. Icon is a water transfer decal with matte clear over it.
It weighs in a 1LB 9oz and actually feels great in the hand. It would do some serious damage and break some bones as a fighting knife and you certainly would not want someone to throw it at you. :P

I want one...

Awesome job man
-
Damn fine job, bro. I used to collect custom knives. Have a bunch of Hibben golds, and a few German ones from ww2. Haven't been in the hobby for several years now. I would buy a copy of this one you've made. Pretty cool. It's up there with that Portal gun replica someone made a few years ago.
-
Don't wanna get stabbed by that.
-
Now make a nova bomb
-
What would you sell one for?
-
Someone's ready for the zombie apocalypse....
awesome job tho
-
i'd totally buy 1 good job their amazing
-
Sharpen it.. i want to see the damage it can do. :)
-
Make a Titan storm fist.... Wait it would just be a gauntlet never mind
-
I would totally totally buy that, especially if it's sharp and will keep its edge.
-
Incredible craftsmanship, ive been toying with the idea of bringing my hunter to life, if I do. You will be who I go to for the knife.
-
That turned out great! Very good craftsmanship! I have made hobby knifes here and there as time permits and can appreciate the time and work that goes into these pieces.
-
Man I would pay good money for a knife especially if it's sharp nice work btw
-
Still enjoying the lighter one I bought from you.
-
That is a good bit of work. I know quite a lot of amature knife makers and that is as good as most.
-
I like how you beveled the edges on the top blade hook and the hole. Looks super clean. Nicely done.
-
Titans are master race but well done very good work
-
*throws money at you* Seriously though, that is amazing work. Well done.
-
Dope, def would buy
-
Amazing now set in fire for the hunter perk dot
-
Amazing! Would totally buy one.
-
Take my money now!!
