Do you know why? It's not because of golden gun or because of arc blade, no not at all. It's simply because the hunter class is the best set up for close quarters combat thanks to their agility. Now combine that with quick reflexes, high sensitivity, good aim & good strafing and you have a problem.
Any hunter that utilizes these will dominate pvp, it's that simple. I for one barely use my super, not even half of my kills are with my super.
Side note: arc blade isn't op plenty of things can easily stop it such as heavy ammo, well placed headshots, your super, suppressor grenades & even dodging. As for golden gun its nothing wrong with it you can easily kill someone with normal means real quick, don't know how many times ive killed one during activation & if all fails just run.

Strafing doesn't do shit in destiny, the aim assist is turned way high. That's why I use hand cannons, it practically auto locks to the head.
-
throwing knives make people rage so hard! they are amazing though, sure they aren't 1 hit KO's but once you understand that you play smarter. Golden gun is fun to pick off a team coming for solely you but other than that its kinda just to save ur behind from one guy. I dont bd except for right now cuz im busy thorn bountying and i want to be invisible cuz im sniping only <3 9000 kills or so, 2000 super kills which is about = to my assists.

Edited by WarIsMyDestiny: 1/6/2015 8:55:05 PMThe agility stat has very little effect a max speed possible hunter can only run .7 faster than the defender titan with the lowest speed possible and as the titan specs speed the gap will close even more so agility has very little effect. One thing I do notice with hunters is that their super is always in the top 3 weapons used in PvP for you its number 3 as I type this with 198 gutted medals 1970 kills and only 7 kills behind hmg for the number 2 spot
-
Hunters are easiest to kill too. So there's that. Squishy hunters.
-
Chain of woe Gunslinger's trance Any hand cannon /game
-
1/3 of my kills are shoulder charge, another 1/3 is my panic super, and last 1/3 is my thorn. Or at least that's what all forums say. Agree with post tho. It's the reason hunter class is one of the top tier pvp players in destiny.
-
Throwing knife is deadly and really easy to use, well for me
-
I'm normally use 1 super a game. At the end because I never needed it the whole time xD. Love going invis, running behind a whole team. Put every 6 bullets of my found verdict into them and wiping a whole team ;)
-
check your spelling before you post.
-
Why do hunters feel the need to constantly validate themselves. I have never seen these kind of posts with titans or warlocks. Majority of prior think hunters suck. get over it.
-
While you're right a good player is all it takes.

Agility helps. But they have the two supers that are best suited for PvP...and exotic helmets that make supers SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful. Golden Gun gives the HUNTER up to three OHKs per activation...and doesn't require enemies to cluster for multiples kills like Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc. Achyllophage Symbiote ups that to FOUR OHKs. Bladedancers can take out entire FIRETEAMS with their supers, and it is very difficult to counter if the Hunter specs it so that each kill heals him. Add Mask of The Third Man...and the Bladedance killing streak goes on even longer. Finally Gunslinger Hunters are the only class that have character class abilities that speed weapon reloading and increase weapon stability.
-
I think people underestimate how powerful chain of woe and gunslinger's trance could be when used by somebody who is very, very good at the game. You'd have somebody who's out-headshotting everyone in every gunfight since their weapon has near perfect stability, and they're reloading lightening fast to kill the next guy.
-
The simplest way to put it is the Hunter has the best overall mobility in running and jumping. They get where they need to go quickly and outmaneuver the other classes. That alone would make them the best PVP class, but there's even more than that. On top of that, add subclass abilities that are extremely relevant to PVP, such as making weapons ready immediately, making you slide further, increasing your reload speed, increasing your weapon stability, etc., and you have a Guardian killing machine. More good PVP players are going to want to play the class that best augments their skills. If they are very competitive, why would they use another class if it is subpar for the task at hand?

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/86442024/0/0 Wow! Who would have thought that an insignificant amount of agility would lead to a .76 k/d spread between the top 100 Titans and Hunters! .66 between the top 100 Warlocks and Hunters. Huh...
-
I'm not good but, I recently made a hunter for pvp. What I've noticed is they switch weapons faster than my warlock and I tend to run on the ground instead of fly around and let someone get first shot. I'm having more fun and feel like I'm doing better.
-
That's why I use sun singer. It isn't an instant kill super. You do receive less damage but you don't do more damage. You do throw more grenades but even then that takes skill to strategically throw them in the right place. And honestly 95 percent of the time I don't even use my super. I only use it when someone pisses me off with their annoying shotgun, rez and melee them haha. But other than that I don't rely on my super
-
Increase the amount of kills/time needed to activate GG and Arcblade. Problem solved.
-
Not sure if I suck with the golden gun but I rarely get to use all 3 shots sometimes. Though arc blade is definitely beast , I respect anyone who can stop that pain train. But then again IMO it's balanced with Titans and warlocks supers I mean self Res , protective bubble , atomic bomb !! Just Cuz it kills you doesn't mean it's OP Everything kills you.
-
Except agility is f*cking useless in this game. My Titan actually moves at exactly the same speed as my hunter
-
The lower the sensitivity the smarter the player. Among good players anyways.
-
Yes, I've recently noticed this; that's why I don't let you get close anymore. Well, in theory. :)
-
Exactly! The agility and jumps are so well designed for getting close and outmanoeuvring hapless warlocks and titans. Golden Gun doesn't hurt, either. ;P
-
Hunters are like the emo kids of Destiny they wear skinny jeans cut and cry all the time
-
Radiant dance machines is what I need and I'll be set
-
A good titan will dominate a good hunter in cqc if he proficient in the art of the shoulder charge. I put the mk44 stand asides on my titan with my purifier VII and got to town
