Suggestions for making your Ghost more useful in open world
Good ideas, would love to see them put in.

The Ghost is fine the way it is.

As all of you may already know, your ghost is basically only useful for summoning your sparrow, going into orbit, showing way points/mission beckons, and most popularly; opening doors. But I believe this little guy has a lot of potential to be more of a utility.
Patrols set you in expansive environments, so why is it that the only time we get to see a map of these large areas is when we're in orbit? While in navigation mode (pulling out your ghost) there's lots of unused space, I think that some of it could be invested in a map (at the very least of the area you're in) so that not only could you know where you are, but plan and see how you can get to your next destination.
I cannot tell you how many times I have been in the middle of a firefight, extremely low on ammo, taking cover, and in desperate need to use a ammo synthesis. Not only does it take away time to open up the menu, go into your inventory, but also sometimes your inventory takes, what feels like forever, to load. A cool little feature I think could be implemented would to be able to assign consumables to your controller's d-pad and once in navigation mode, just press assigned consumable's button, and presto, no need to go into the menu.
ex. I assign a heavy ammo synthesis to my d-pad's up button, when I pull out my Ghost, I press the up button and the consumable is used.
I feel as though these little features could go a very long way.
Thoughts, and other suggestions?
