WHY?
GOOD QUESTION. Obviously a contract was made between Sony and Bungie to guarantee exclusives for playstation, BUT. The question is, WHY. Clearly, Sony paid some cash for that, in hopes it would sway a many a folk to buy a playstation, to have the "superior" destiny console. What I don't understand is that, WHY, did Microsoft not make this deal. Now let's get something straight, Microsoft is SO F*CKING RICH, the second wealthiest company in the world (behind apple), Bill Gates who helped to found it, is so f*cking rich, he alone could buy out sony, bend it over a barrel and ride that f*cker into the ground, and he would still be one of the richest men in the world, no sweat. SO, Just imagine how much cash the entire company has. It seems Microsoft could have easily made that contract right? But there's more to it, now I'm not sure about what happened exactly. No one knows if Microsoft just didn't see the opportunity as feasible or outright decided, F*ck you Bungie, for even considering another console as your exclusive outlet. And the latter makes more sense to me, because listen up. Obviously Halo was an outstanding franchise that "defined a generation" and popularized first person shooters, made them mainstream. But did you ever think to realize who made Bungie!!!?, F*cking MICROSOFT MADE BUNGIE WHO THEY ARE TODAY, without Microsoft taking a leap, signing Bungie in to the squad and taking them under their wing, guiding them to greatness, you likely wouldn't know what the f*ck I was talking about when I said Bungie, you'd probably think I was some weird assmotherf*cker talking about trampolines or some sh*t. Bungie owes EVERYTHING to Microsoft. So it begs the question, WHY, WHY did Bungie choose Sony over Microsoft, over the company that nurtured and cared for their frightened newborn baby of a company in Bungie? I DONT KNOW. But it pisses me the f*ck off and poses as a monumental curiosity in my eyes! Thank you for your time.

Look at the tiny letters you 'blam!' there you can see it is only for a limited time
-
It's because Microsoft forced bungie's hand on making reach. Bungie felt that halo CE-3 was the story. Microsoft milked their cash cow to hard and made bungie super salty towards the company.
-
Nintendo....hmmmm....
-
I tryed reading it but the lack of spellink and paraffing is riddickulous!
-
Why does it matter they have exclusives.. From the sounds of it, every exclusive they have is terrible, weapons and strikes. Except for Hawk Moon.. Plus we'll get them later.
-
Easy answer, Microsoft payed for the exclusive on titanfall over destiny. We all know how that worked out for us lol.
-
Because they thought COD was going to reign supreme forever and this blow in 'destiny' was going to last for a month tops, wait and see destiny 2, there will be a bargaining war and bungie can sit back and enjoy the bidding war.
-
Dont worry. I am an xbox owner and I believe that playstation having exclusives is slighty beneficial to us as well. Because the 2nd DLC is coming out before all the timed exclusives come to us, meaning ps will get more exclusives. Now, you may be thinking "how is this benificial to xbox players?" And this is where xbox is lucky. You see, ps users complain about not enough content just as much as xbox users, if not more. So when the timed exclusives come out, we should be getting 3 new strikes, 5 new exotic weapons and apparently new bounties. So now, everytime you see a ps user you can laugh at them and think youll be basically getting a third DLC at about mid year and then apparently in september, another big dlc, on a disc, is coming out.
-
Microsoft is rich, they just don't give a shit about their player base. They have enough players that they feel they don't need to pay for exclusives.
-
Why not?
-
Lol people still believe MS is still so powerful, if only they knew how much money MS spends s year on advertising alone, and saw how little the made back.
-
Pretty simple answer to your long drawn out question....Bungie is a business. Businesses are made to make money, Sony offered more money.
-
Ignoring your giant wall of text rant, 1 year is really too long. Imo, the exclusivity should end each time a new DLC drops.
-
The Ps exclusives suck so don't worry
-
Answer to your question: money

Edited by Xûr: 1/4/2015 6:21:13 AMI'm sorry but Wal-mart is the 2nd -blam!-ing largest/wealthiest company in the world and apple is only 16th

I think you are "some weird assmotherf*cker" now that I have read your stuff. I knew who Bungie was before they signed with Microsoft. They made a good game before Microsoft came along. xBox was a good thing for Bungie. Now they split and half of them made Destiny and made a deal with Sony. Bungie made this game what it is, Not Sony. This is not the same Bungie that was with Microsoft, just a part of it. This is the new Bungie.

Microsoft could easily run sonys play station to the ground but theres monopoly laws and such so Microsoft has to leave some food on the table for poor little sony lol

Edited by Evertill: 1/4/2015 5:53:06 AMYeah bungie owes everything to microsoft. Like losing their life's work to a bunch of dicks in suits. To be honest i'm suprised Destiny is on Xbox at all.

Ha Halo was originally supposed to be multiconsole/pc game but Microsoft swept in and grabbed them. Bungie doesn't owe Microsoft anything, it basically defined the Xbox for years. Everybody hated that shitty giant xbox controller that we could barely hold as kids but we kept playing for halo. I know if it was on the Playstation, I would have easily switched earlier.

tbh i dont think that ms thought destiny was worth it. dont get me wrong, i like destiny but you have to admit that this game has alot of problems. Maybe ms was right in their decision & after the reviews of this game i personally think that ms will just distance itself from it.
-
Destiny was originally going to be a Microsoft exclusive to start with. Someone somewhere screwed something up.

Sony poured money into destiny, Microsoft poured money into TitanFall

I read this and had two thoughts. Mr. Torgue plays Destiny... (Seriously, OP is channeling him 100%) ...and the trampolines line was brilliant because that's exactly what I thought Bungie was before I read about Destiny the first time.
