WHY?
GOOD QUESTION. Obviously a contract was made between Sony and Bungie to guarantee exclusives for playstation, BUT. The question is, WHY. Clearly, Sony paid some cash for that, in hopes it would sway a many a folk to buy a playstation, to have the "superior" destiny console. What I don't understand is that, WHY, did Microsoft not make this deal. Now let's get something straight, Microsoft is SO F*CKING RICH, the second wealthiest company in the world (behind apple), Bill Gates who helped to found it, is so f*cking rich, he alone could buy out sony, bend it over a barrel and ride that f*cker into the ground, and he would still be one of the richest men in the world, no sweat. SO, Just imagine how much cash the entire company has. It seems Microsoft could have easily made that contract right? But there's more to it, now I'm not sure about what happened exactly. No one knows if Microsoft just didn't see the opportunity as feasible or outright decided, F*ck you Bungie, for even considering another console as your exclusive outlet. And the latter makes more sense to me, because listen up. Obviously Halo was an outstanding franchise that "defined a generation" and popularized first person shooters, made them mainstream. But did you ever think to realize who made Bungie!!!?, F*cking MICROSOFT MADE BUNGIE WHO THEY ARE TODAY, without Microsoft taking a leap, signing Bungie in to the squad and taking them under their wing, guiding them to greatness, you likely wouldn't know what the f*ck I was talking about when I said Bungie, you'd probably think I was some weird assmotherf*cker talking about trampolines or some sh*t. Bungie owes EVERYTHING to Microsoft. So it begs the question, WHY, WHY did Bungie choose Sony over Microsoft, over the company that nurtured and cared for their frightened newborn baby of a company in Bungie? I DONT KNOW. But it pisses me the f*ck off and poses as a monumental curiosity in my eyes! Thank you for your time.

Didn't Microsoft -blam!- bungie?
-
Because this is what the game industry is doing exclusive for this game for Sony next game will have exclusives for Xbox
-
My first thought is that this post you have made is silly, you are obviously a fan boy and haven't really thought on the subject, and your information is wrong. My second thought is they probably cut a deal with Sony because Bungie needed a little foot in the door with Playstation players since they have been producing halo for so long

Where did you get your info that Microsoft is the 2nd bigest company in the world!? You are way off. Microsoft came in 8th in the top tech companies with Sony 9th. When you widen the list to all companies including the big hitters from oil and retail they i can't even find them in the list (top 62). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_companies_by_revenue http://www.therichest.com/business/the-top-ten-tech-companies-in-the-world/

quite positive that Halo would have been far more successful if it had been built for PC. Halo CE for PC was far more epic than the console version but many didnt like it because the networking was set up for Xbox which means the PC version had some rough lag issues that you had to learn to deal with. MS didnt make Bungie....Bungie had the game it was not MS who took bungie and showed them how to make the game great...Halo CE was a great game and MS just capitalized on it. Halo CE would have done just as well on any console (probably better if it was a PC exclusive).

How do I down vote
-
Because bungie separated from Microsoft after halo reach because Microsoft -blam!-ed bungie over that's why

I never read posts typed in all caps because it means an idiot wrote it. That is all.

Relax bruh. Look at it like this, Sony paid a whopping amount of money for what? A COUPLE OF EXCLUSIVES. Even sony fanboys are quick to dismiss the extra strikes. Whatever the case maybe and ultimately the final point, regardless of exclusives....RNGesus does NOT discriminate, we are all, (Xbone/PS4) at its mercy.....
-
Activision probably forced the deal. Think about it, Activisions other big name FPS is CoD which has a Xbox bias. So as a business stand point, having a FPS with Playstation bias makes sense. Playstation also has more players, which might be the reason also.

Bill Gates cannot buy Sony. He isn't rich enough to do that. Sony's playstation division is only a small component of the larger enterprise. Just like Xbox isn't a very large component of the larger Microsoft enterprise. Neither console is a core product for either company. As such, there is limited support for all the endeavors. Perhaps Microsoft didn't have the budget to also include Destiny with everything else they were working towards. Or maybe they just didn't believe in the vision that Bungie has for it. But all this is speculation and unimportant. What all these Microsoft cry babies need to realize is that Xbox isn't a top priority for Microsoft. It's not their core product (licensing operating systems) and if it ceases to be profitable it will cease to be. Same thing goes for Playstation. Although it is more related to its core products (consumer electronics) than Xbox is to Microsoft's. Both companies have limited budgets for their "gaming" decision. Microsoft couldn't or wouldn't fit destiny within their Xbox budgets. Sony did. That is why Sony has it and Microsoft doesn't.

Don't know, don't care.

I don't care if one or the other gets exclusives (XB1 here), but a full year between launch and XB1 getting it is ridiculous. Not even Microsoft were that big of a jerk with Call Of Duty. PS had to wait I can't remember, maybe month or 3 months before they could get the content. It just shows how scared Sony is of going out of business, since PS is the only saving grace the company has going for them.
-
I used a paragraph once, It worked well.
-
Because Bungie knew you were getting an Xbox.
-
Word of advice, you do not want Psion Flayers or undying mind as a nightfall strike, that is all
-
For da money. thats all
-
I wouldn't mind ps getting exclusives. What pisses me off is that we have shit all content as is. They need to establish some content and story before they start making exclusive content.
-
I'm no expert but I don't think bungie likes Microsoft very much, they don't have a great reputation with developers

Edited by elmetfano: 1/6/2015 12:43:58 PMDisclaimer: not a console fanboy idrc lol but i do like my ps4 I think ps4 is on pace to be the fastest and best selling console of all. Sony's gaming division is one of their best divisions (prob one of their only good ones too). Whatever they're doing is good business economically speaking

One simple reason Microsoft focused on titanfall till the last second...

BUTT . . . HURT It's three weapons, and two strikes. Not worth this wall of text. Not that deep. And when it comes to the weapons the one thing that people are forgetting about is a little thing called RNG. Let's say that XBONE had the three PSN exclusive weapons as well...Guess what? They still have to drop for you. I'm on PSN and Hawkmoon and the 4th Horseman haven't dropped for me and countless others. Put down the spider-man comics and your computer and go outside. Christ.
