Black Wax Idols
Is anyone else finding it impossible to get black wax idols anymore? I just killed over 30 hive ultras/majors, and not a single one. Yesterday I managed to farm 1-2 in an hour. Did something change, or am I just remembering these being easier to find before?

I have 75.. wouldn't say it's hard..just gotta know where to farm. Those 3 hive at the steps. ..drop nice

1 ReplyDude! Yes! I can't get a BWI for anything anymore! Zero! It's very annoying. I had a decent amount, but when I ran out, now I can't get ANY, and I've tried EVERY method in the Forums! Bungee? What's going on? I had to re-install bc I never got my EV-30 "Trick Sparrow" - STILL haven't gotten that, but about a week ago - No mute BWI. About the time I reached level 20, light level 22, Warlock, and I recently finished the URN quest...somewhere in there, I stopped getting idols. Anyone else? How do we get Bungie's attention? Very annoying there's no ticket system, esp. With the cash I've loaded into Destiny, Pass, 1, 2, and Vanguard (came included). CAN GET NO MORE BLACK WAX IDOLS AND NEED HELP...

1 ReplyCosmodrome, Patrol, Steppes, down the tunnel to the 3 hive majors... They drop black wax idols very frequently. I have like 160 of em between 3 characters, even after using a bunch, like 60, with Eris.

I find i get heaps from the dlc rasputin mission at the end just kill everything till you hit the ogre die and do it all again

I farmed the three cosmodrome hive yesterday for 30 minutes or so, received 8 BWI. I don't think the drop rate has changed.

1 ReplyEdited by UppGrayxDD: 1/7/2015 2:23:16 PMrinse and repeat the "Darkness Below" mission on the moon, just do the "you have awaken the hive" part after cutscene and kill all the hive, and the four majors, WITHOUT KILLING THE KNIGHT!. Let the knight kill you and continue rinse and repeating. Great way to finish Eris bounties as well as obtaining black wax idols, also when done farming make sure to leave to orbit to save your checkpoint at the hive doorway for later enjoyment

you just think its easier before because you hardly notice them even if they drop since they have no use other than increasing glimmer when killing hive, now that you need them you constantly looking for it thus making it look it takes forever to get. i have 160+ from release till DLC came out. now i have another 8 in 2 months. i don't even pay attention to them.

Same here been farming for two hours and no black wax only silken codex errrr probably ANOTHER BUG in the game.

I do the Rasputin mission on 30 over and over. Got almost 6 in like an hour

I got like 6 today in about a half hour so I would say no

I personally blame Husk of the Pit - I know it's coincidental, BUT, when I have that in the inventory of one of my characters, instead of in my vault - I find exactly ZERO. I put that thing in the vault, and boom, 10 of them in a matter of minutes... COINCIDENCE??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I THINK N... ummm... I mean, probably.

5 RepliesOn earth patrol, if you stick to the left and immediately head down the stairs into darkness, you run into 3 hive majors - I kill them repeatedly for the hive major / ultra bounty. They always seem good for a single wax idol drop each time you kill the trio.

2 RepliesI've got 130 stored. Do solo SOTWM on earth and the hive ultras drop. I've gotten up to 4 per run.
