I was in a group and they made someone leave the fire team when Crota started kneeling. He then came back and killed Crota without any trouble. This took a few minutes overall.
Is this the kneeling glitch being referred to?

yeah. the mechanics of the fight are a little different than forcing crota to stay kneeling till the end of his lifespan. poor crota.

Exactly. The host dropping causes a glitch where Crota won't move or regen shields.
