So I just found the Husk of the pit on Earth in Patrol...
Eris wanted me to do some stupid "kill the swords of Crota" BS so I'm running around in the Steepes waiting on these jokers to spawn. So I run up to the glowing green fireball & wait till that big three eyes oaf shows up, Nova Bomb them & what comes popping out of thin air but the HoP... I wasn't even trying to get it & don't really want it except for being able to one day upgrade it to shards..
So yeah it's everywhere, don't let anyone tell u different.
EDIT 1: Dang there are some really dumb people here... Most everyone (see countless forum posts) has said that you need to Run the 1st DLC mission on earth for the "best chance" of getting it. I am simply posting that it is everywhere & that all you need to do is kill spawns of three eyed blue boy. Never said I didn't know what to do & didn't say this is the "best way" it's f-ing RNGsus, he gives however the heck he wantS.

Moron creates moronic thread. How post modern of you.
-
It's not in a specific location it's a random drop I got mine from the first dlc mission but I suggest you don't grind for it because you could be trying for days
-
It's much easier from the 1st dlc mission.
-
I have four freaking useless husk of the pits from doing the exact same thing.
-
Lol my friend spent 8 hours grinding for it and I got two in 30 minutes from patrol

Edited by RORYWAN13: 1/2/2015 2:16:12 AMThis isn't new news at all OP. A lot of us have gotten multiples just killing blades on patrol. The only reason the DLC level was mentioned was because there is a guaranteed spawn 1 minute into the game, rather than waiting around for a random. And at first it did seem to have a higher Husk RNG rate than other Blades.
-
The requirement for HoP is to kill a swordholder, so you could essentially get it in the raid
-
Hey! Just a reminder you could play the 1st Crota mission on Earth! Just go on your sparrow and drive past the mobs, then wait for the hive major to spawn with his sword. Takes less than 5 minutes.
-
The first mission on DLC removes having to wait on the blades to spawn in patrol. Therefore you can kill more blades and thus increase your chances at obtaining it. It can be obtained elsewhere but that doesn't mean the people suggesting the fist of crota mission are idiots as you so eloquently stated.
-
I have 4 of them. All from the Steppes just doing regular killing of the Sword Bearer.
-
Thanks for the old news
-
i got it on earth doing patrol, i dont have dlc so its pointless for me anyway.
-
Yep. Have 3 and all were obtained via patrol while focused on sword bounties.
-
Yeah first mission on earth is still the fastest way. You can kill him every 2 mins instead of waiting for him to pop every 15 minutes on patrol.
-
whooo hooo.... what is this now the 100000th post about this ?
-
I've got 4 in the bank. Yay me?
-
All you have to do is kill Blades of Crota. That's it. It doesn't matter where. How hard is this to understand.
-
Edited by A Potato: 1/1/2015 10:44:23 PMThe fist of crota is faster because it is a guaranteed sword guy every single time. You don't have to wait for them to spawn like you would in patrol. This is a dumb post. You just got lucky.
-
Lol everyone knows this. It drops from any blade of Crota. The only reason people do the Fist of Crota mission is because it's the fastest way to get repeated blades without having to run around patrolling.
-
Got my 2nd one on patrol last night. People are only frustrated because they're expecting it after every swordbearer in the first dlc mission, and get disappointed after every failure. While people just doing patrol get them and get surprised. You can get 'em both ways, but I wouldn't worry about it, you'll get it eventually
-
Got 4 on patrol, dismantled 2
-
Got mine today from patrol on earth.
-
I was finishing up a 4 hour session yesterday and found one at the post master!.,, not sure where from i killed sword bearers in a few places that day
-
Based on amount of times I've done the Crota mission for bounties against finding it on patrol, the mission is just the best way, but I got another one earlier and it was on Patrol on Earth in Mothlands. People saying about the Crota mission just mean its the easiest to find the Sword thus the quickest way of getting your chances. Looking for him on patrol can be a pain in the bum especially when other Guardians are around. I've posted previously advising to shoot the minions, then him and finish with melee without getting hit - went from 1 in 50 to 1 in 10 chance of Husk. Just sayin my experience.
-
I got two in one day from the Fist of Crota mission so..... and yes I hade the "Kill the Blades of Crota" bounty going.

After reading the edit: What was the point of this post then ? To brag ?
