If you have the money PC is by far the best! Almost every game I can play in stereoscopic 3D. And alien isolation on my oculus rift? I'd look down my nose at you console peasants but there us a VR headset in the way!

Sony doesn't know how to run and maintain a console, sorry but that's my opinion. Microsoft at least can keep servers up most of the time and the controller feels better. And with the Sony hack it is just safer

Edited by LJ: 1/2/2015 10:02:30 PMBoth are pretty much the same. If he likes halo get an Xbox. It's really all about exclusives because both systems do pretty much the same thing.

All 3... True gamers are not restricted by platform. Only money.... Lol

No wii u wow.

was going to say stick with what you know....

If he's just looking to casually game either console will work. I'd ask him if he knows which one all his friends have so he can connect with them. If he's looking for something more serious, I'd get him a PC. Only problem is if you want something good for the same price as the consoles you'll have to build it yourself.

If you're interested in destiny then ps4 for sure, if not, then try to get more info about the games he likes and then decide

Technologically the PS4 is the better console and has about 300% larger market share at the moment. After this past week and the obnoxious amount of time it took Sony to recover from the DDoS attack, I'm not sure I'd recommend the console in good conscience. I do own both consoles and I prefer my Playstation in almost every way, but Microsoft clearly has the better infrastructure and the honest truth is that when the network goes down and you can't play any of your games, it doesn't matter how great the console is, just how quickly the company can recover and get you playing again.
-
I own both and play my Ps4 more and buy multiplats for it. I use my Xbox One for current exclusives and ones to come.

I don't know too much about ps4, other than i can't stand the controller (it could just be that I'm used to the Xbox controller). The only real deciding factor should be what his friends have, assuming they play video games. Otherwise it probably doesn't make a big difference which console you choose.

Ps4 has hawkmoon right now...enough said.

PC forever.

Edited by Helix: 1/2/2015 3:41:18 AMDef PS4. Its geared more towards gaming, as oppopsed to X1, whichnis more of an "entertainment console." PS4 has share play, live streaming, donwloading while away. Its just more of a hardcore gamer's console. And PS Plus is cheaper than live, and you get up tp 2 free games a month, or 1 on Vita.
-
Pc because of cheaper games. Also modding and better graphics
-
Xbox needs a slim version ASAP as stupid as it may sound the size is horrible and the powerbrick is just adding insult to injury. If they came out with an Xbox same size as ps4 even smaller Id be all over that tbh

It really comes down to what your friends have at this point. There's positives and negatives for both, and I'll admit ps4 has a lead in sales. I bought my x1 because I prefer the Xbox controller to the ps, and I only played with a few of my friends who all purchased the x1. If they had bought the ps4 I probably would've gone with that. Yes I have friends that have the ps and they would give me crap for buying the x1, but now I give them crap for not being able to play. These console warriors are just children. Research the games, what your friends play on, and which controller you prefer. 900 vs 1080 doesn't make a huge difference unless you have excellent vision or a giant tv. I have a buddy who complains when we watch something on my tv because the x1 isn't 1080 native. I honestly can't tell them difference, but he's really good at it. My other buddy has both systems and he uses the ps4 only for single player games. He likes the graphics but wants to play with me (yes, I actually convinced him to buy one just so we could play mcc together, an old tradition we had etc etc). Tl;Dr friends, games, controller, graphics. You decide what you want from there.

Pc. It'll always be better. Always.

Some are better than others because of hardware but in the end it comes down to titles. I don't care if the XBone had the shittiest hardware in history ... if it had solid titles on it it's a win in my book. Sony has been suffering that curse ever since the PS3. I mean I have over a hundred PS2 games but only eighteen PS3, maybe twenty. That says a lot on it's own.

PC Master Race
-
Xb1 and ps4 are very similar. I personally based my decision on which controller I preferred and went with ps4 but I do enjoy playing my mates xb1.
-
Xbox One.
-
I really don't see 1 being better that the other I've been a playstation person well since playstation the other systems never really had more than 1 series that was only for there system and that would peek my interest

14? Buy him a gameboy, or a 360 He doesn't need a current gen console yet. Buy his dad an one, but not him.
