Edit: I know Americans do it the backwards way.

Edited by Atamusk: 1/1/2015 11:34:56 AM20150102 This would be how you see it in US military communications. 01JAN2015 This is the preferred format for most formal documentation. 2015001 The US military supply system uses the Julian date vice the Gregorian date. There are a lot of formats for date, all for different purposes, let's not bicker over silly things, yeah?
-
I love how even at the holidays we can still all find pointless things to bicker about. This is how I know this community, deep down, all love each other like family. Coz only family would argue about the pros and cons of the way people structure the date.
-
In America they do it backwards.....
-
It's Merica. Check your shit.
-
That comment deserves an award. MURICA!!!!!
-
lol, my bad. I forgot Mericans are always right ;)
-
-
.... and that sounds intriguing
-
No one cares about your ancient way of telling dates. Get with the times sucka
-
Get with the times? You just don't appreciate there are other countries in the world apart from 'Murica.
-
This seems like a contradiction, the op listed their prefer date methodology and got bashed because theirs didnt conform to others ideal methodology. In this example the op is american and the bashers are i presume European so how is it Americans are not appreciating others when its the opposite? The whole argument about which is right is stupid because all it is which one each of us were taught growing up. Chronological makes sense but only because its been around and accepted other then that its nothing. Month, date, year makes sense in speech and writing while day month and year makes sense numerically.
-
Month, date, year makes sense in speech
This is only because it's what you were taught. But nice try. Logic > america
-
The argument is not stupid, arguing about it is. The most common form of date representation that has been used since hundreds and hundreds of years before America even existed is DD/MM/YY It's no surprise that if you post a date then there's a good chance someone is going to assume it's in the most common format unless they have prior knowledge of the posters nationality.
-
He's saying all other calendars are wrong and his is right.
-
Or maybe other countries have to feel get are right on everything and no one should be different. I don't respect arrogance, which comes from most other places in more abundant amounts.
-
Your reply is of no relevance to the argument what so ever.
-
Explain where the logic is in MM/DD/YY. There's absolutely no sense of order. Also, you call armegg "football", and football "soccer".
-
* the English named it soccer, is short for association. Good day
-
Oh, so that's why it's still called football in England?
-
*and anywhere else outside the US.
-
Lmao armegg. Took me longer than I care to admit to work out what u ment there.
-
It's from Monty Python I think :p
-
January 2nd, 2015. Seems to make absolute sense to me. It's how you sign papers. It's retarded to say 2nd January 2015. There is only 1 January in a year dude.... And cause "Armegg" outright sounds retarded. So we gave it a more basic name. "Soccer" is just as retarded but can't have 2 footballs. Don't be jelly.
-
It's retarded to say 2nd January 2015. There is only 1 January in a year dude....
That's why you say the 1st/2nd/3rd of January. Get an education you filthy sewer rat.
And cause "Armegg" outright sounds retarded. So we gave it a more basic name.
How about coming up with a relevant name that isn't already taken? Smashball? Crush-the-ball-carrier (would also work well with your love for acronyms: "CTBC")? Armball? Duckball?
"Soccer" is just as retarded but can't have 2 footballs.
Technically, it's 1 football and 1 armegg.
-
It makes more sense if you say the 2nd of January.
