Overseer Event idea

Been working on and off on this for a couple days now. PVE content is lacking an event and a couple people have suggested horde/survival modes which I am all for Overseer Event Don’t think for a second guardian that all the lands we take back are safe. The darkness is always looking to take it back, probing around looking for weaknesses in the defenses of the crucible. Sometimes however they will just resort to sheer force and send their champions at us. Attacking an area with 6 or more guardians at a time seems like suicide but with the live fire going on this has proven rather hazardous with the guardians trying to work together. Thus the crucible formed the overseers. Their job was to recon the darkness and to plan and retaliate to their attacks. When the darkness invades a crucible area, all guardians are pulled back and the overseers are sent in. The task is grueling but they are ready for it. The overseers are willing to recruit guardians into their ranks, particularly when the darkness is making its move. The Event • The overseer event is a horde game mode • Crucible maps will serve as the battlegrounds • There will be 4 waves of enemies to fight. All majors and ultras • The final wave will have a unique boss enemy • After each wave rewards will be deposited to inventory like completed raid sections • Nightfall is in effect • After each wave an additional random modifier is added (like firefight) • Borrow elements from gears 3 horde mode. Enemies can be of different factions. For instance the earth crucible maps can spawn hive and fallen at the same time. • 3 new vendors of each class. Located in the hangar basement area • New legendary weapons and gear. Some of which can only be obtained after completing waves • Daily reset on wave rewards Waves • 1st wave: Primarily low tier enemies (dregs, thrall, etc). Enemy count 50 Wave rewards: 4 blue engrams • 2nd wave: Mix of both low and middle tier enemies (more vandals, knights, etc) Enemy count 100. Wave Rewards: 3 Ascendant energy. 3 Ascendant shards. 5 Strange Coin. 5 Motes of Light • 3rd wave: Mix of middle and high tier enemies (Ogres, wizards, Hydras, etc) Enemy count 200. Wave Rewards: 4 Purple engrams • 4th final wave: Mix of all tier enemies and one boss. Enemy count, infinite until the boss is killed. Wave Rewards: 1 Exotic engram or Overseer Voucher (can be turned in for rep, materials, or marks at any vendor including dlc vendors) and guaranteed gear drop Playlist (this was added just now) 2 playlist. you get rewards for doing both. Raid - 6 man matchmaking Hardened Strike - 3 man matchmaking Vendors The vendors should have a more battle hardened look to them and their armor. Spending more time in the field and less time at the tower • Eisenhower (ike) – 3 Titan – Exo Male “I know not my reason of creation or why I was brought back. But I remember.. the darkness must be destroyed” • Elizabeth (Vicky/liz) Victoria the 3rd Hunter – Human Female “When killing minions of darkness. Might as well have a little style to it.” “I swear Drake is mocking me with his title.” • Stefan (drake) Dracula the 1st Warlock – Awoken Male “A snap of my fingers and I lay waste to dozens.” Bosses Bosses all have shields that recharge as quickly as public event targets. Vex names are due to lack of recon/intel available on them (also because I suck at name making usually) • Styx Crosser - devil walker (only on bigger maps where applicable) - solar shield • Braksis - Archon Priest (sword variant or shrapnel launcher) - arc shield • Tepiks Prime - Servitor (can provide an actual overshield to nearby fallen) - solar shield • Brain of the hive – Wizard - solar shield • Strength of the hive – Knight - arc shield • Body of the hive – Ogre - solar shield • Gatelord mini – Minotaur - void shield • Hydra Head – Hydra - void shield • Cerberus – Hobgoblin variant (has two arm cannons and when shielding/cowering has higher damage to guardians in proximity.) - arc shield • Goliath Tank – goliath tank (only on bigger maps where applicable) - arc shield • Tomb – Psion Flayer • Vo’ourc “The unbreakable” – Phalanx - solar shield
