~I know this will be a TL;DR issue, but I feel this has plagued us long enough and I need to say at least something, mind you I'm not one for such long write up's but I don't want to quickly visit the topic's without explanation so people can argue other ideas and points of course. If you'd like to read the pre-info from my perspective that led up to this feel free below
~ Verification of current progress if needed: http://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/254/4107372 ~
So I am now just over 300 raid counts(sort of counting character deletes during VoG time) , full clearing each week/all raids from Crota's(13 loot raids) and literally hundreds of VoG, going on 1300 hours invested (according to Xbox time here), etc etc. Still seeing people run the raid once, get a full set of 32 gear... While other people keep pushing, and pushing, and getting nothing or going weeks upon weeks to get a 32.. In a game like this I really don't think the RNG should be THAT ridiculously tedious.. With so many viewers stopping by all the streams we've met so many people that didn't even complete their raid set by expansion release, so this isn't just a single person type issue either..
Me/Streamerhouse, and the like of mods/friends we've made and have through the stream have helped TONS of people in both expansions, but at least in VoG time we could solo nightfall's and get the under-geared people some help, or just group if we wanted. The same goes with the raid, we've helped countless either through the raid entirely or by soloing things like Atheon to help the community, or now with Crota's end we do full clear's more. I know I've personally helped at least a good 1k+ people get gear from VoG/Atheon, and now I've been doing Solo Raid runs for the community for awhile now (up till Crota due to not having gear for 32, to make Crota solo-able without glitches etc.). Only reason I'm mentioning it is to bring the obvious point that there's many that actually NEED that help with current systems in place.
In short Im stuck with 3x lvl 31 characters, not even one of the new Crota introduced exotics, (Aside from Upgrades/items from Xur)]hundreds upon hundreds of hours put in for the first time ever on a console game honestly, and have met more people through these methods then games like WoW and the like. Honestly, you shouldn't have to delete fully lvled characters/wipe all subclass progress just to try to get pieces you need. Not to mention things like the nightfall...
Idea's for Nightfall improvement:

1. Change Nightfall to the new materials perhaps since we're now 4 weeks in, remove the old ones as it gives VoG more of a reason to be farmed other then the legendary weapons and such. Also keep in mind that all the items break down into a few old materials still, so something to consider when a nightfall is completed you could end up with 2-3 etc old materials.
2. Dont give something like Legendary engrams the chance for materials, if people want the materials they can break the weapon/armor that it ID'ed down. When people get a legendary engram it generally makes them go OMG YES, but to get a single one from a Nightfall and it ID's into a few old materials.. Quite a few of the legendary weapons dont roll the way people want so they break them down anyway or the gear being pointless/useless after your 31.
3. Try to find a middle ground for perhaps solo Nightfall, and a tad increase to difficulty of full group runs. It used to be really a pain to run a full group so most tried solo I'm aware, and you're trying to increase player interactivity, but forcing it doesn't really help either. Especially, since there is no matchmaking(for obvious reasons with the current system). Basically, in between how it is currently as IMO. it should be a bit easier with a full group, but this way it doesn't punish the less time accessible, or even less skilled players. We actually met more people socially with the old method honestly as a side note and helped more out.

~Reminder: I'm not saying doing a nightfall should be a super easy task for a instant gratification of an exotic or anything like that, I'm hoping the base of what I'm talking about is being understood and not just simply analyzed in a sense.~
Idea's for raid loot or loot in general:
1. Perhaps expanding on the Eris type material trading system and maybe add a sort of "vanguard commendation" system for the raid gear and allow people to choose which piece of gear from that, even if it lowered chance of loot a tad, people would still be able to complete sets more proficiently perhaps.
2. Crota's end drop rates were apparently higher then last raid and yet this RNG problem still plagues many we've seen. With being 4 weeks into The dark below, and hard mode raid unlock coming at literally any time, perhaps the %'s should be tweaked a tad higher. Especially since we've done many a raid after the raid helm implementation/increase drop chance and have only seen 1-2 drop from our main group's of raiding and carried groups that are done daily.
3. Perhaps adding an almost like Prestige type system so instead of people wiping all character progress due to RNG failure's and going through all that trouble. Allowing a characters main level to be reset without wiping everything, or even more awesome adding small increases to drop rates that could even max out after a certain amount of re rolls.
4/5. Allowing either re-rolling of int/str/disc and/or secondary stats on gear like we've seen in a sense with Iron banner. Also, this expands into the realm of allowing old content items to possibly be upgraded as many have fallen in love with old content items and want to keep them but will soon be pushed back by the idea that well bigger is better basically.. The current expansion basically made the entire last one pointless, the only reason people do VoG really is for the weapons or materials to upgrade the Vanguard gear. This could also keep old material + gear in use for those items to be upgraded or perhaps allowing trading up of old materials for new to upgrade newer stuff if wanted.
6. Other options of armor sets even if its different stats, color's, physical aspects etc. Many people play these types of games to feel unique in their character and currently everyone may have a different face in tower and/or shader, but the gear's basically the same if your pushing for raid gear.
Ship/speeder/housing idea:
1. Allowing more personal control/use of our ships would be amazing I think, even if it started slowly and grew into player housing type situation. This could open up possibilities of much larger storage areas, ideas on how to open those areas, and player customized things. I'm aware that there's been some chatter about shaders on ships/speeders but people will still want to be more unique. It was a good nice change to have so many neat concepts of ships brought in the Expansion, but about the only way to get these is forcing players to play RoC strikes/PVP etc as well.
2. Overall even if #1 isn't visited, (I know..you've heard this already..) much bigger area's to store items/separate items... People on games like this like to hoard more often then not... The space we have is BEYOND tedious to transfer around, between characters have to get rid of items we like to keep others, etc.
Strike idea's:
1. Currently a tad burnt out for ideas here but they're not that bad other then allowing increase in difficulty of these higher then 26... Allowing more chance's at better items, materials, or even glimmer increase rewards etc.
2. Allowing a VOTE TO KICK or equivalent option's... Almost every strike or every other I get afk people who tend to get better rewards then the people doing ALL the work... The current reporting system does nothing at all.
2/3. This ones a hard one to visit in a raid type environment without people getting upset so I think this would be better in other areas perhaps. If there is an obvious situation like #2, that can obviously be seen by statistics from the end of strikes etc allowing more loot for the ones doing that work, and even possibly limiting them from the ones sitting afk/barely doing anything etc. Even if a vote to kick was initiated and needed the player to be afk more then like lets say 5 minutes to do so, someone will just deliberately tap the controller to not afk etc. Yes, someone could abuse the #2 system and just kick the 3rd person if they dislike him, but honestly the re-match up isn't that bad..

Sadly out of room here will try to reserve a 2nd post.

Edited by Rakunvar: 1/1/2015 2:34:22 AMXur's ideas:
1. Xur currently is highly sought after and of course many are saddened by his selection due to his seemingly horrible repetitive item selling/upgrading. I think this could be worked on and perhaps a safety in a sense in place to not allow him to sell the same items 2 weeks in a row, at least giving that 1 week break. 2. I think the current glimmer CAP and Rewards itself could be tweaked as stated previously with strikes/bounties etc. These upgrades are 7-8k each, and not many really know HOW to farm glimmer quickly even though there's options for that, people spend quite a bit on ammo packs etc. 3. The fact that upgrading exotics wipes the progress/you lose all the materials etc into the item's seems kinda lame honestly.. I think this could be improved on and not made so tedious, maybe by increasing the gain even more then it is currently and maybe refunding even half the materials.
Going to take a break for now as my brains Destiny thought process for idea's is currently dead.. I'll be asking viewers, checking on community idea's here and adding other ideas if applicable of course. I apologize for the long nature of the post, I just didn't want the thread to be simply me explaining all the bad issues with no resolution's, ideas, etc. Thank you for taking the time to read/check in if you did. ~Rakunvar
