Creationism =Ignorance
Creationism= ignorance. Ignoring scientifically proven facts such as evolution, while also disregarding evidence against your beliefs (such as carbon dating) just because you have "faith" is, to me, pure ignorance. Thoughts? Opinions?

2 RepliesNay, it's worse than that. Ignorance is curable. Ignorance can be educated. Creationists are stubborn and unwilling to learn. That isn't ignorance; it's stupidity.

I'm with you, but I'm not sure that young Earth creationists and the like are ignoring the facts, it's that the facts don't hold weight to them. They have a predisposition when it comes to understanding the world from a scientific standpoint, and that is science is owned/governed/created by God and as such anyone using it to defame creationism is a misnomer. It's a pretty messy discussion to get embroiled in. Their main argument is based on using scientific sophistry to prove things like the flood, but they also swerve round the Ark story which is integral to the flood portion of the Bible stories. They cherry pick what to use in an argument, the same way they cherry pick what to believe. The beautiful thing about facts is that they are infallible. The ugly thing about creationism is that the entire belief system is devoid of fact outside of affirming that the Bible exists, just like any other literature.

I don't think Creationism should be taught in schools. I think it's dangerous to teach our children this stuff. It's not a theory or a fact or anything, really. It's just religious people trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Evolution isn't proven actually. There's a missing link between humans and other species last time I checked. Also, the only ignorance is the incapablility of some people to accept another's view point.
