We want cross-gen Destiny!
It's time to allow cross gen for destiny! For so long players have been complaining that they can't play with their friends who haven't gotten next gen consoles or can't afford to. Bungie constantly says they are trying to build a community of togetherness and cooperation, why not let us play with our friends in the same console family?
I understand the argument about better hardware giving an unfair advantage but that advantage could very well be due to the TV the player is using and I think the benefits of being able to play with friends on older consoles far outweighs the negative aspects (are there any really??).
So c'mon Bungie, give the people what they want! Let me know what you think Guardians

Edited by MaKEshiFT51: 12/31/2014 12:17:37 AMThey explained this a LONG time ago. And said it would NEVER happen..Due to last gen not having nearly the processing and GPU power of next gen. This is just one examples Bungie gave during an interview of how this would affect the overall game. Such as, PVP wouldn't be fair, as a next gen user can see more detail at range. While last gen wouldn't even see the next gen guy, due to the lack if rendered in game pixels, and get one shot killed from a sniper.

Or maybe it's not Bungie and it's actually Sony and Microsoft using a marketing strategy to get the consumer to buy new gen consoles and make more money.

Say if you (next gen) and Frank (last gen) were sniping at each other. Both of you pull zoom in other the other. Frank's head may appear to be 4 pixels to you but to frank you may only have 2 pixels. That's a bad explanation and the numbers are just examples but I'm pretty sure that's why they said this will never happen. I'm sure if Sony and ms didn't hate each other enough they could get cross platform but let's face it that'll never happen

Don't sell your old gen console then. Your Xbox One characters can be played on 360 seamlessly and vice versa. They are saved on the same backend. You can do the Nightfall on XO and weekly on 360 if you want. Same for PS3 and PS4, but they are not compatible across coprorations. I am sure not due to technical reasons, but due to contracts.

It's probably more to do with psn and xbl not being on the same set of severs cross gen. There is probably also different software require for say 360 and xbox1 which would make for to much lag. It's not as simple as saying we want it.
