The exploit disrupts network traffic to gain an unfair advantage in the game, which is expressly against the T&C everyone "signed" when they purchased and booted up the game. So Bungie would be well within their rights to ban people that do this. Whether they WILL or not, on a wide scale, remains to be seen. And the opinions of Youtubers likely won't factor into their decision-making process.
