Probably DMC original. Never got very far into it. Between fixed camera angles and iffy controls, I never beat it. Honorable mention to Blinx: The Timesweeper for being the most unexpectedly difficult, being a rated E game.

Good luck rushing past the monster closet with 5 grenade indicators + Grossly bullshit AI. In 2006, Call of Duty 3 took the award for Hardest game, due to the AI's Psychic abilities and grenades. WaW in the Japanese Campaign wasn't much better. That's in recent memory though. Max Payne 3's New York minute on Hardcore. Old Style though would be Contra.

Dark Souls isn't hard. As long as you aren't a rager and have patience, the game is fun...but -blam!- me if it's not frustrating as all hell. I'm so looking forward to Bloodborne.

Idk) was my 1st dark souls-like game in difficulty... for gods sake you also have to purchase the ability to save the game for 100 coins! EACH TIME! If u buy this game as a download on ps3 then u better play it when u can stay for long sessions and u better bring ur A-game face on, and with dem demon and dark souls skills...
