I wouldn't mind the outage if it wasn't 1 Christmas and 2 a recurring theme. I'm not to fussed about psn being down most of the time, but for my nephew that got a new ps4 for Christmas it's a devastating way to spend his day, staring at the psn loading circle trying again and again to log on to his playstation to play games and download a game that he really wanted, I had to create him a psn account on an internet browser just so he had the hope of jumping straight in without having to wait any longer for the servers to go live, unfortunately now it's been over 48 hours since the ddos started and it's ruining millions of people's Christmas fun and enjoyment. If so many new games didn't require a live Internet connection and having to be logged in to premium services, it would just be another day of gaming, but with so many games needing that connection it's a prime target for upsetting a mass population of gamers.

Really good point about so many games requiring an internet connection (but not really...!). I remember the good old days of the Atari console...whoo now back then we still had party lines for the telephone!
