I was watching AngryJoeShow's Angry Rant about Destiny. He was talking about Strikes, and then he brings up the question, why doesn't strike bosses drop loot. I was wondering the same damn thing. Bungie you need to add this, it makes perfect sense. Here is the link to AngryJoe's video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzopWRXK_r4 He has lots of good points. I am focusing on why Strike bosses dont drop Mandatory loot. They still have a chance to change this, it would be a great thing to do, a 100% drop-rate, but its random depending on what LEVEL strike it is depends on what drops.
EDIT 1: After killing the boss he should drop a gun for example, or armour, depending on your Level decides what gun or armour you get and how good it is.

They do have 100% guaranteed loot, but you get it at the rewards screen instead of an engram. What they give you is still random. And it is directly related to the strike playlist level you run. Another thing that was in that video, was chests spitting out engrams. You still get stuff out of them, you just don't see the engram pop. The only thing that is different is the animation of the engram, but the loots are still there.

Guaranteed blue drops, because you need more things to dismantle? Also, the full RNG system (as ugly as it is) prevents people from avoiding certain strikes because they don't need/want gear from there. Which was always an issue in WoW. Also strikes do have guaranteed loot, if you select them from the map, instead of doing the strike playlist. The reward for doing the playlist is marks, which lets you choose legendary gear. Which is a far better way to get loot than grinding Sepiks Prime for a 0.2% at his legendary gun drop. The loot system in Destiny is a pain if you're looking for a specific item, but it's actually more generous than WoW is/was if you're looking for upgrades.
-
No. That's what raids are for. Strikes are too easy. Level 26 strikes are easy as hell. And you get rewards upon completion which is the same thing as drops for killing the boss
-
Lol so many sheep listening to this nobody "angry joe" ... If I wanted to sit and listen to an unemployed overweight fatass loser I'd come talk to your dad.
-
i got a green engram once from the arkon priest..........like 2 months ago
-
Because Bungie knows giving away what little content they have would make people realise what little content is in the game Apart from the exotics, everything else is a reskin
-
Well each of the strikes off the map do have a reward at the end, armor upgrade etc, that are leveled to the strike. Then the ROC play lists always awards engrams. I know it's not seeing a weapon drop from the boss physically, but I believe these are the awards that the boss drops, they just go straight to the rewards screen.
-
I had an idea for rewards from the Strike lists. Give a chance to drop engrams. Or at least a better chance. For example, defeated bosses have a 10% chance to drop Legendary Engrams. But also a 1% chance to drop an Exotic Engram. This could start at the level 26 Strike list. And higher level lists could have better odds. Say a level 30 Strike list boss has a 20% chance to drop Legendaries and a 5% chance to drop an Exotic Engram.

It would be way more exciting to have the boss directly drop loot instead of waiting for a -blam!-ing square at the mission summary.

Edited by ragnarok0609: 12/26/2014 4:46:21 PMAngry joe complains a lot. You get engrams from beating a strike. If the boss dropped a loot it would be an engram. What difference does it make. The strike is over as soon as you beat the boss. If it was fixed loot and no completion engram guess how many ppl would play the stike over and over? We would have quitters everywhere. Angry joe is a crybaby like most ppl here. He should hand over the channel to other joe.

Edited by Anthem92: 12/26/2014 4:52:36 PMI think boss specific drops could add a lot of flavor to the strike experience. Like valaus (sp?) Dropping a unique machine gun that looks like the one the colossus use. Sepkis could drop void rocket launcher. Spider tank could have a ton of unique drops based on its weapons.
-
Cuz then I could have one every 10-15 minutes. Too op if they are good drops
-
Stay a sheep the test of you're life it will take you no where

Edited by WARCOLONEL: 12/26/2014 5:05:41 PMI know the rare or better loot you don't grab almost always gets mailed to you, but when you're doing strikes with random people and end up dead at the end, who's to say that they would revive you, or even can. So you have to go to the postmaster in order see what you got, which means you have to leave the strike playlist your playing. I'm okay with the strike bonuses being in the after action report, not from the boss itself.
-
Not sure what you're talking about, I got Hard Light last night from Aksor.
-
Roc strike offers you two reward drops of blue level or higher. What more do you want?
-
One time I got a legendary engram from phogoth..... Shards
-
That guy is terribly annoying
-
Strikes aren't difficult enough to justify guaranteed 'good' drops.
-
"Angry Joe has lots of good points." Lolno, it's just a grown man yelling like a 12-year-old at a camera for half an hour.
-
Instead of loot dropping from the boss it drops after the strike. It's essentially the same thing, except that everyone gets to see what loot is given out instead of people picking up gear from the ground. What you're asking for is what we're already getting, just for it to happen in a different way.

Edited by abelsinh: 12/26/2014 8:43:39 AMThere's a 100% chance of getting loor after beating the boss on higher lvl strikes. That angryjoe guy sounds like a 12 yo.
-
Edited by sprad96: 12/26/2014 8:28:46 AMAs a reward for the strike you always get at least two blues [higher levelled strikes]and you can get exotics Iv had a hard light from a strike. So why do we need the boss to drop the loot?
