Hi, people.
I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this before, but my fireteam/clan (in real life) have been discussing a certain aspect of Destiny that plays a HUGE part in the game BUT we feel that is lacking.
We're talking about our JUMPSHIPS.
Those rather cool machines that are tricked out with weapons and (sometimes) oversized engine blocks, that allow us jetsetting, solar system tramping Guardians to get around when not pounding away on the ground.
We think that it would be completely wasted if we did not get to actually fly them in space. In actual space-based dogfights.
Even if it's in just a crafted mission.
That and a few of us want to br able to use classic/cliché lines like "IT'S A TRAP!", "Fly straight, son," and "Right, here I am, about to DIE!", etcetera etcetera.
The ability to control your jumpship and fly it around would be amazing.
Plus, think of all the linking possibilities: finding specific ships for the Shipwright, reputation building for spaceborne factions or with the Shipwright herself, mechanics hangar to assemble or outfit your own ships, craft artwork (decals!) and so much more.
The bottom line is that we believe that Void War, Space Battles, Spatial Dogfights would be an amazing addition to Destiny at some point in the game's future.
Like the X-Wing, Wing Commander and Freespace series and their ilk.
But not like EVE Online, there's no real piloting control of your craft in that kind of model.
Plus, it would be an absolute waste of the weaponry that our jumpships are toting if there wasn't some way to use it.
It would be STELLAR if this idea/dream became a reality.
PLEASE.
