That's the point, a competent group. I only have two other friends with Xbox one and destiny so we always have to use forums to find people, and those people generally suck/don't know what's going on, so we cheese it and get it done fast. I wouldn't cheese if I had a competent raid group, but as it is, it's no fun to grind the Crota boss fight for 3 hours because that one dude off the forum keeps dying and we get wiped by the oversoul because no one but me and my two friends know to shoot it. Yeah, it makes it less fun but I've done it both ways and I'm okay with it just for the loot.
