What a coincidence that my 10th Bungie.net year would land on Thanksgiving, at least over here in the US.
Short, sweet, simple; This community has contributed much so very much over the past 10 years of life, it's mind boggling.
I've met some of the best people one could have. Laughs, tears, drinks, hangovers... all shared with people met through this website.
Sometimes I do have to take a step back to take it all in.
We've had our ups and downs on here. We've had people screaming from the top of their lungs "Community is Dead". I've seen more discussion happening in private group chats over the past 2 months that i had seen in some over the entire period of Darkness. I've shared more games with more people over the past few months as well. In my little corner, community is so very far from dead - it's almost laughable. Take a breath, have a conversation, and play games with those you enjoy most. Community will follow. All in all, I don't believe community is dead. I can't really. After being here for so long, it's just another turn on the wild roller coaster.
This past year I was able to attend and work E3 as a Mentor, thanks to Bungie. This past year, I shared another summer weekend with community at PAX, thanks to the generosity of few. These past few months, I've been able to interact with old and new members with ease, thanks to these forums.
Thank you all for these past ten years. Thank you all for contributing to the experience. Cheers to 10 more.
I do have to honor those who I hold dear in my heart:
The WorkPLace, The Welcoming Committee, and Mythic Members. These three private groups have been my homes. They will continue to be through the future.
Last, but not least;
I hope you're resting well, Deathpimp. Thank you for being there, and continuing to be there even after your passing. (m)
