Do any other hunters experience inconsistencies or glitches with the arcbolt grenade? I've had numerous things happen instead of the grenade jumping to multiple enemies:
1. The grenade is deployed in a pack of enemies, but does not hit any of them (no damage whatsoever)
2. The grenade is deployed in or near a pack of enemies that are close together, but only kills one (no chain)
*Note that I am mostly talking about PvE here.
Edit: it seems like any elevation change will stop the chain between enemies (crouching enemies, enemies on different height platforms or hills)
EDIT: arcbolt grenade description: a grenade that chains bolts of lightning to nearby enemies
I still have had instances where the enemies are not on different elevations and the grenade just doesn't target anyone
Hunters, post if you have had similar problems and add any that you have personally experienced

OMG, yes!! My archive grenades constantly 'fiz' out. I throw it, and nothing happens. Also, when they do hit in crucible they rarely kill anyone even if their shield is gone. And on the contrary to another's remark, they do chain from enemy to enemy as I have seen it time and time again. Problem is they don't kill sh!t at all. I am disgusted with my hunter, his grenades suck, his melee is weak just like the grenades, and arc blade bugs out and I have to two hit a player to kill them. Well done bungie, the nerf -godwinslaw!-!

You misread Arcbolt. It's exactly like the Warlock's firebolt grenades. You throw a grenade and it chains to enemies around it, it doesn't chain between enemies.
-
Same thing happens with fire bolt and axion bolt grenades with warlock. If you throw the grenade on an uneven surface like a ramp, the grenade will not pick up on nearby enemies.
-
crouching= Invulnerability... GG yall.

I've also had these issues. It's really frustrating to have useless grenades even when you place them perfectly, especially when you are using Lucky Raspberry. Also, I've noticed them being ineffective when they stick to enemies. Combined with a special melee that does so little extra damage that it can't kill a level 1 vandal, the hunter feels like it doesn't even have specials sometimes. Please fix it Bungie. Even if it is intentional, it's not fun.

It seems to me that when enemies duck or crouch, the dodge that specific nade. Could be wrong though
-
I can't believe no one has had these issues and isn't concerned. I have a warlock, the fireball grenade will hit targets that are lower than the grenade, arcbolt does not. Fire bolt is much more consistent compared to arcbolt This grenade is full of bugs. I can't even count the number of times when the grenade should've killed 3 people and doesn't target ANY and just fizzes and disappears in front of them all

Hunter blink strike needs fix, i hare knifing the air when the guy is right in front of me.
-
I agree, I don't remember hearing: "If someone throws you a grenade, duck! It might save your life!" Any granade should cause some damage even if the enemy ducks.
-
The Arcbolt grenade will not hit crouching enemies (Or elevated shanks). If the arcbolt grenade targets someone for the first zap and they crouch, then the initial zap fails, and there is no start of the chain, hence no chain. If the first zap connects, the chain can still be severed if the next closest enemy is crouching. I do not know if this crouch avoidance is intentional, but it's been a thing in the game for as long as I can remember for Arcbolt Grenades.

Edited by Meilf: 12/23/2014 7:31:52 PMCould it be a connection or lag issue? These specifics don't ever happen to me.

Yep. I've thrown the nade only to find my enemies are mysteriously well grounded. In pve that is. Works fine in pvp.
-
Yup. I have had those problems several times. Or it will hit enemies but do very little damage. It's worse, imo, in pvp. I have had it land next to people and not hit them. Or do various low amounts of damage. I have seen anywhere from 3 to 120 damage from them in pvp. Most common is in the 20-50 range for people standing basically on it when it explodes :(

I've never had a problem with any of my arc grenades

They need a fix
