Enlighten me why someone who glitches infinite rockets in Crucible deserves to be banned, but you that made Crota your bitch deserves not.
When you glitch infinite Rockets you show that you are bad and are taking advantage of other honest players.
When you glitch Crota you get to 32 without deserving it and use your op-gear in IB to take advantage of other honest players.
Crotaglitchers show that they are bad and have to level the playing field to make them feel better, they also stain the Reputation of other 32 that got there legit.
Enlighten me how I´m dumb and too much of an idiot to see the mistake in my reasoning.
Bring on the BS, best BS will be graded.

I'm not defending cheesing crota. Explain to me though why bungie doesn't fix glitches that cheese players? Why do they have a system that rewards people from being AFK? Xur who sells the same exotics for warlocks over and over? That impacts the fun of other players and has been like that since launch. Why does crota not go down sometimes when his shields are gone? Why do we have to reset our exotics and artificially extend the game? The problem is players are starting to feel tired of chance and glitches determining everything. I've read endless posts about the lowest guy with kd is getting exotics on here. Players are tired of getting cheesed of their efforts. That's why we're seeing more AFK and cheese. Cheesing crota is the symptom...not the problem. When a player begins to feel their effort is pointless they become part of the problem and play to the weakness of the game. Again...not defending it but looking at the reasons. If bungie starts fixing the system instead of player reaction the players will change their behavior.

they didn't ban atheon pushers so i doubt they will ban crota crouchers
-
Cause Crota killed thousands of guardians. Not one more I say. I will gladly unplug my cable if it means that no more guardians will fall to this monster. Shame on you for not caring about the lives of your comrades.
-
For one thing... visibility... do you honestly think bungie has time to go over each and every single time a group has gone after Crota? In Crucible people get reported and bungie investigates reports, such things do not happen when someone goes into it with a group of people of their choosing to mess with his mechanics. In order to discern who glitched Crota they would have to inspect every single Crota kill event to see if it was glitched, and furthermore actually inspect what happened in the Battle to determine the difference between someone simply disconnecting because of legitimate reasons, or deliberately did it to glitch Crota, because they obviously can't just ban everyone who has ever lagged out during the Crota fight. I am by no means supporting using glitching to kill Crota, but at the same time I realize the reality of the situation is, even if they started handing out Bans for it, likely they would only manage to maybe get 1% of the people doing it, in which case haphazard enforcement of policy would undermine the nature of the service they are providing and make them seem foolish lashing out against random people. So Bungie will do as they have always done, turn a blind eye until they figure out a way to patch it out of existence and move on with life, much like they did with Atheon and the Templar
-
itz bungie's problem, any exploits are smart play. you can always quit n join another game. you are your own folly

Edited by Fate by Fenrir: 12/24/2014 2:27:53 AMCrota gear does not effect other players, specifically in the only place it would matter - which they say it does but it doesn't - the Iron Banner: A) Your a 32 without cheesing, the 32 cheeser isn't any stronger than you are. It comes down to skill. So, you have nothing to worry about if you beat Crota legit right? You have the skill. B) Opponents a few levels down are still a threat, the level advantages are negligible at best. This is shown to every level capped player taken down by 1 lower level fusion rifle shot, or 1 lower level warlock melee, or a weapon that's not fully maxed (a rare blue!) doing work on your health bar. Prove me wrong. On another topic about banning, Bungie won't ban players for this in my opinion. The game has taken media hits and it wouldn't be a wise move to gain that negative attention along with its history since launch. Patch the exploit and move along. Just like the Loot Cave, just like the Templar, just like pushing off Atheon.
-
Rocket glitch hinders others from enjoying the game (when done in pvp). Unless crota has been complaining to bungie I don't know who is being effected in a negative way. 99% of the groups will say whether or not they plan to cheese crota so nobody is being forced into it.
-
How do you prove someone cheesed?
-
Does Crota even drop armor? I am serious. I have 5 completes now and not once have i seen him drop a piece of armor. I got the Gloves and the Boots from in the raid, but only guns from Crota.
-
Here we go real 32 and fake 32
-
I have cheesed the boss once and it feels dirty won't do it again. I wanted to see what it was like and it's the same mechanics as normally doing it just learn to do it right and it will help in the hard version. Also I have completed crota 5 or 6 legit times and the most rewarding and fun is with the sword the first time as the sword guy it took a few hours but that final hit was the most rewarding in the game so far.
-
I would say that its different because pvp is cheating against other paying customers and pve is only cheating yourself. Therefore i dont think someone ahould be banned for doing it
-
I think the main difference here is effecting others experience. Ive beaten crota a few times now and its rather easy as for cheating him to death I dont have any real issue. Yes it should be patched but I don't really care that it exists, when they do patch it watch people cry and beg for people to teach them. Its the templar all over again
-
How does one deserve gear? What qualifies a person? I can carry you through the raid right now. You can die at the start of each checkpoint and stay dead. You'll still get gear. Do you deserve it? Completion based rewards just mean you show up and happen to still be connected when something ends. Yay! So much skill. Honestly the heavy ammo glitch directly affected players. Cheesing Crota has no direct impact on how you play the game. Someone getting 32 from cheesing does nothing game play wise to interfere with you. You personally may take offense with it, but it doesn't hinder your game in any way.
-
Infinite rockets are used as an unfair advantage over other humans in pvp. It's like lag switchers in cod. While it is cheating, crota does not affect any other people directly. The rewards are still random.
-
Well the way I thought it was put by them is, the rocket glitch was used to make other peoples game play terrible. There is a big difference in a lev 32 shooting you and a level, will say 30, spamming G-Horn in your teams face. The rocket glitch directly affected players in a player vs player area leading to a overly unfair advantage. Ruining many a games. Crota glitch is effecting 6 people at the time the glitch is preformed. 6 people who by no means have a gun to there head to partake in it. Many people could not just jump out of a pvp match, most of the time jumping into another "rocket game". Unless the full group turns 32 and runs around on Iron Banner this effects next to no one. Even then we have seen many a max level get there butts worked. Is this a good thing, no. Should it be fixed, yes. Truth be told thy want people to find and do things like this to work out bugs thy would of never came across. Hell thy should hire people to just play and try to break stuff. We all know thy have better things to do then to watch every raid and find people using this then give the ban hammer. Thusly losing player base. There time is spent better fixing the code to patch it. And when thy do some one will find a new way to "Cheese" it and new glitches to fix. So play your way and let others play there way.

Edited by zadus2: 12/23/2014 9:43:33 PMI think this is the wrong direction to take in your argument that it's cheating to dc glitch Crota. I personally don't think people should glitch Crota, but that glitch doesn't compare to the pvp rocket glitch at all. The Crota dlc glitch is probably most similar to pushing off atheon. In both situations it's basically free raid gear for little to no effort. And yeah, bungie fixed atheon and they will probably fix Crota if it's at all possible. If they can't fix the dc crota glitch, then I will start expecting bans instead.
-
Exploits in Crucible directly effect others game play. Glitching Crota does not. Someone being a level 32 does not effect your game play. Why do you care what others do in PVE? I have a grade for you: F
-
Too easy, mate. Rocket glitching is against other live players and doing so directly affects their gaming experience. Crota, on the other hand is an AI, incapable of sentient thought. Cheeseing him doesn't really have a negative impact on anyone or their ability to play and enjoy the game. That said, don't take this to mean that I am defending cheese in any way. You posed a query and I tried to answer it.
-
Still don't know what this glitch is but here is what I think cheating is: putting out a game that hasn't completely been tested or finished. How about gutting a game to sell it in chunks? Wouldn't that be cheating. I play just to have fun with friends if someone wants to abuse a glitch that doesn't effect me. Just take satisfaction that their gear will be obsolete next expansion.
-
There's a big difference between PvE connection problems with hilarious results, and direct PvP cheating.
-
Because the infinite rocket glitch is directly destroying peoples gaming experiences. The crota glitch is bad, but isn't directly hurting other gamers. People who glitch crota shouldn't be banned at all, BUT they should fix it soon because glitching is ruining this raid
-
Destiny or BUNGIE will never ban for this offense since it doesn't directly affect another plays experience, however you still can get banned for the Crota exploit since its manipulating the Xbox/Sony network and is against TOS. That is how it is different.
-
Also having lvl 32 gear has a little to no impact compared to infinite rockets in IB. Besides, barely anybody is 32 anyways as you have to have the perfect drops, so it will still be a lvl 31 playing field, Which anybody can hit. There is no real advantage to cheesing except that it's easier and faster. Given a long enough timeline(2-3 days), people would complete the raid and get rewards anyways. It literally has no effect on you.
-
Edited by iDANglin: 12/23/2014 8:41:12 PMIsn't it obvious? Glitching ammo in PvP burdens others' gameplay. Glitching Crota doesn't hurt anybody else's experience. Edit: Way to look like an idiot @ OP. The answer to your question seems like common sense to everyone else.

$60 when they bought the game gave them the right to play the game any way they choose. Now if there actions get them "banned" as people are saying then so be it. Still there right and no matter how many people cry and complain about the cheese/cheats people are gonna still do it regardless. Best option is to dry those eyes and just worry about your own game and quit wasting time on these forums like I just have done myself lol
