So this Thread clearly explains why the Networkglitch is in a whole other class than all the glitches/cheesing that did go on in the vault:

EDIT: For all the Naysayers that say Bungie/sony couldn`t possibly distinguish between a random and a deliberate DC.
1.Lets just assume that there is a time-window of 5 seconds around the point where Crota kneels down to dc on purpose and use the glitch.
2.Let`s further assume that on average the ServiceProviers are reachable for 90% of the time (It`s actually more like 98%, but we will be very generous)
3.Since Crota has been “beaten” more than 160.000 times and a Raidteam consists of 6 people we will say: There are at least 1 Million chances to draw a disconnect during 2 hours (an average Raid takes this time). If we take the 10% from above we can say: 100,000 disconnects happened during all successful Crotaraids up to this point.
So what is the probability that A DC happens randomly at the exact same time Crota goes down?
Calculation:
2*3600/5 = 1440:= potential 5 second-time units of one single player during a successful raid
1,440,000,000= for all players
Ergo
The probability that a DC happens randomly at the moment where crota goes down for any Player is
100,000/1,440,000,000 = 6,94e -5
And for the special case that this DC concerns the Host:
1,16e -5
For comparison:
The Probability of getting a Royal Flush in Poker: 2,57 e-5
Another Hopebubble busted by Math, sorry for that
EDIT 2: I will also link to a prominent youtuber (Datto) that has the same opinion as the vocal group of "It`s a cheat not a chesse" on this forum. Since he works closely with bungie you can be sure that in one way or the other Glitchers will soon befall a special "Destiny":

EDIT 3: This is how a big banwave looked in Halo:Reach (2010) courtesy of Bungie
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occurring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.
Thank you, and please direct any discussion of these resets to this thread.
Edit 1: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for
a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via intentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
Edit 2:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

Cheaters, be wary of the Credit Reset!
EDIT 4: Cheaters have officially gotten a Carte Blanche from a Studio that is a shadow of its former self
Bungie does not kick ass any more. I was a fool and the cheaters have taken over.
I will now make a thread to suggest to ban anyone in the future that tries to make a thread about banning someone.
Bungie clearly voted for the quick buck.
I hope they will live happily ever after with you and your kind.
Signing out ;-)

I like how some say other people's playing doesn't affect them. How could it not when you have to play with others? And when people doing legit things get left behind and those cheesing start saying lvl 32 only . yeah it kind of does affect other people when you do anything. Not saying every 32 is a cheeser ,but it sucks when all anyone wants to do is get the gear. For what? To glitch the game some more ? The blam u need gear for then fool. Frustrating . Eff talk of banning tho. shouldve been more thoroughly tested if you didn't want it to happen and sometimes its no use fighting the crowd.

Edited by Vahrg: 12/30/2014 11:14:30 AMIDC really, CE takes 40mins or an hour max legit
-
If you "Dashboard" (xbox term) / Disconnect to accomplish an objective? Yes...its a cheat.
-
FYI: At least three persons already got banned
Just to note... not for this. What you have are people CLAIMING to have been banned for this. But if only three people are making this claim, then it's obviously not actually for this reason...

Edited by Ragamuffin: 12/30/2014 4:51:59 AMThe programmers that made the glitching possible the raid need to be fired...
-
I don't think it's right to ban for this. One group did it when I didn't know what they were doing and I wouldn't want to get banned for that. Now that I know what it is....I don't care if people do it or not. They should just fix it instead of banning for it.
-
No, it's bungies fault for putting it in the game, people aren't gonna stop being shitty. I don't condone it, but I don't expect people of not do it. And honestly enough people have done it that they'd wipe out half or more of their population if they banned them all
-
Wtf did i just read
-
Why do you care? What impact does someone cheesing/glitching/exploiting Crota, or any other aspect of the game for that matter, have on you? It's not as if there is a limited supply of raid loot that they are keeping from you, so what's your deal? If it's just because you feel that there will be people running around with a 32 that didn't earn it like you did then you need to find healthier ways to validate your self worth. If you can offer one valid argument why I should care how someone else chooses to play the game I will reconsider my position. Until then you and the rest of the self appointed Destiny mall cops need to chillax and focus on your own game and forget how others choose to play theirs.
-
You say it on average takes 2 hours to do a raid. That may be true for VoG, but you are mistaken if you think the same for CE. More like an hour.
-
lolmad. OP tried to do it but couldn't do it so they decided to bash on it.
-
Stop wasting your -blam!-ing breath, people have been timing out of cod and other online games for years! Sony and Bungie don't give two -blam!-s. They will fix it for the hard raid and move on.
-
Except bungie going through with this would mean they lose 90% of their player base. Where is your logic OP? Bungie wants to make money. How can they sell DLC when no one is there to buy it. I've beaten him both ways and I can say you'd be hard pressed to find a majority who hasn't tried or successfully cheesed.
-
the vocal group of "It`s a cheat not a chesse" on this forum.
Considering the amount of people that have said no to your biased af poll, I'd say you're nothing but the minority. You are also making you self look absolutely pathetic by repeatedly spamming these topics and posts all over the place. Nobody cares. It LITERALLY has zero impact on your game and your life. If you believe it does have some form of impact on you then you desperately need to seek psychiatric help.
-
I don't care. I like doing it legit. It's more fun.
-
Well I have attempted to do the glitch/cheat whatever it's called. We couldn't get it so we do it normally no problem anytime . It is an exploit but so are many other glitches in the raid . I personally don't care if they do or not . It's not hurting me anyway.. No one should be banned but this should be fixed
-
Well, first time this glitch happened with my team we didn't mean to do this, a guy got randomly disconnected and it happened, actually i think my team was the first to "cheese" crota. So no, banning is not fair, and yes, Bungie is banning, a friend of mine got banned an hour ago.
-
If they start banning people, for something they caused. Might as well turn the servers off. Your talking about millions of people being banned. for an exploit that Bungie knew was there, before they ever lunched the DLC. Quit whining about it already. Are you mad that people have raid gear? Even with out the exploits, eventually people will get the same stuff you have. Do you not like joining randoms, just to hear them say we're exploiting Crota? Stop playing with randoms! Find a group of legit people and only raid with them. I have no ideal why so many people, find this to even be a problem. Let people play the way they want to. If you don't like the way they play. Play with someone else.
-
Should they be banned? Absolutely not if you wish that upon then it's because of a "I worked hard for this and I'm jealous that he beat it an easier way" type thing which is kind of pathetic. From my experience with my raid group it actually seems easier and more fun to just best crota legit. Me and my friends kill him legit all 3 times within an hour easily. I would probably have more trouble trying to abuse him than i would just fighting him the fun/legit way.
-
Yeah no one cares. I used to be against all the cheese and cheats but given the piece of SHIT connectivity from xbox/psn and most of all, Destiny, I encourage everyone to abuse the shit out of this exploit, cheat, cheese, whatever. All the more reason so it can be patched sooner and Bungie can take their game seriously.
-
Stfu no one cares
-
Network manipulation is DDoSing, standbying,... It does not affect other players so it does not fall under that category. You're a complete moron, let players do what they want, it doesn't affect you.
-
Were people banned for pushing Atheon off the edge? No. Why would people be banned for cheesing Crota?
-
Completed Crota 6 times. 5 legit, and one cheese. The difference between doing it legit and Cheese is marginal, with an experienced group. Typically a good group can get Crota down before the Orgers, faster if the Sword bearer is 32 and you have good timing. While cheesing him can take just as long, sometimes longer. It's not an easy cheese like Atheon was...

Edited by TalonZahn: 12/29/2014 6:30:09 PMPeople take the path of least resistance to what they want to gain. If what they gain is not seen as a proper reward for their time spent, they are more likely to search for, find, and use, the easiest methods. This numbnut in the video can call it whatever the hell he wants. He's.... wait for it...... another internet nobody barfing up his opinion and hoping someone gives a shit. The major failure here is with Bungie. There are many other companies in the MMO business that fail at end game content also. A person has to look no farther than the 3 versions of a strike; Normal, Heroic, and Nightfall. There's no difference between them mechanically, they just increased the damage done to players. So the Raids follow the same pattern. Hard Crota will be EXACTLY like Normal Crota with less room for error because Bungie has no ideas beyond: MORE DAMAGE! KEEP FIRING ASSHOLES! Since the RNG sucks balls and there's no indication of Fireteam Trading at the end of a raid.... get ready for more cheese/cheating/glitching or whatever it is you weepy kunts want to call what other people want to do when they play.
-
if it was that high up on their 'we're gonna ban people for this' list, they would have fixed it already. no sane company would risk alienating their DLC-buying userbase like that because they want to continue milking us for our cash down the line. that's business.
