Not in my experience no. Every class works best only if you get the jump on your enemy. If you have someone shooting at you fall back, retreat around a corner and prepare for them to come around. Use your shoulder charge to your advantage when taking on more then 1 enemy. And don't be afraid of using your FoH. It's one of the fastest charging supers, use it accordingly.
