Faux banter and repartee to a mostly deadpan audience. Quips and self-congratulatory back-patting. Ill timed information on just about anything other than what the fanbase is calling for responses to. An interview with Johnny No-One-Gives-A--blam!-. Statements about what they 'have learned from the players' and cryptic half-promises that 'big things' are just over the horizon.
Oh yeah... the compulsory "We have heard you" which has become as empty as it is redundant.
This was made yesterday before it was noted on twitter that the Weekly Update was announced to be pushed back a day... let see how close we came...
The Holiday Season is a wonderful time for reflection – to take stock of the current year as the final days wane, to build a few bridges and kindle a little bit of hope for the future (see what we did there?), and plan for the days and months to come.

Right now, at this exact moment, 12,869,066 players have picked up a controller and taken Destiny for a spin. They have sparked 22,932,276 Guardians to life. Together, they have spent 872,404,449 hours battling the aliens that want to turn them into dust. By the time you read these words, those numbers will have grown. Also at this exact moment, over five hundred developers are hard at work to make sure that the world you inhabit will continue to evolve.

In the span of time you have spent playing Destiny, the Curiosity Rover could have made the voyage to Mars more than one hundred thousand times*

As we reflect on this year, we won’t only be thinking about our successes and our challenges, but on the innumerable and immeasurable ways in which our players have made Destiny more than it has any right to be.
Quips and self-congratulatory back-patting? CHECK!

Randal the Vandal and everything he represents in terms of player-driven narrative. Special shout-out to himynameisross for this story and the best phrase ever: “Two words: One word: Destiny.”
Jim Levasseur, Cinematic Artist
I love watching streamers on Twitch stream their race to beat all the Raids. It shows passion, dedication, and it reminds me why I’m here: To make great video games.
Andy Xiao, Artist
Sparrow surfing incorporates two of the three best things in Destiny: Dancing and riding around on your Sparrow. Shooting things in the head is the third best thing. [Editor’s Note: Known issue, will not fix]

I can’t leave a public zone without checking this first.
David Candland, UI Design Lead
Even though it is usually targeted right at my face, I love the Rant Tuesday thread on reddit. Something about the all caps public yelling speaks to me.
Jon Weisnewski, Design (Weapons)
I love watching Sparrow trick videos like this, and have been excited to see people making games for themselves like this.
Brendan Walker, AI Engineer
The “Destiny In Detail” series was awesome. It is an incredibly thoughtful, insightful, and cleverly written editorial on Destiny’s game systems.
Nick Gerrone, Killer of Joy [aka: Project Test Lead]
I love how eager the community is to analyze our game, explain it to each other and themselves, and provide feedback on their experiences.
Our next update will drop in January. It hopefully includes some stuff you’ve been asking us for. Expect details soon after the holidays.
Bungie, for all your recent shortcomings in so many departments, I will give you this: You do not disappoint on how disappointing you have become!

Bump. I've fully given up on these guys. I'm tired of our complaints being flat out ignored, watching glaring issues and controversies being brushed to the side, and being lied to. They've gone full Call-of-Duty Activision lap-dog on us. DLC on the regular and already working on the sequel? Good on ya Bungie, you've turned into another corporate machine. At least your head writer, and music producer/composer (the one's I'm assuming who were the only two who remained in your company with any variant of passion) either got to jump ship at the end or were unnecessarily fired for no reason. I'm going to keep Destiny, the Legendary edition and all of the funny little trinkets I have and put them on display to remind me to NEVER trust another gaming developer ever again, especially you guys.
