Why the hell must I press 'X' to play Destiny? Why else do they think I started my console with the Destiny disk in and selected to play it from the XMB? To make a cup of tea? To walk the dog? To play some other game? No! I started the game because I want to play Destiny, to state the frigging obvious. I want to play Destiny, that's why I started the stupid game. I don't need to be asked again as if I'm some idiot who doesn't know what he's doing!
Could someone explain the logic behind Bungie's thinking when they coded this part of the experience?

How's it different from any other start screen? There are no other modes in destiny and character selecting is the only other screen besides play so it really doesn't waste any time.
