1 ReplyI think Microsoft will keep it going as long as it makes money. That being said, I do think a lot of people are waiting to see how Halo 5 is before officially giving up on Halo.

They have a contract to make 3 games so I'm pretty sure there is a guaranteed 6th

Everyone thought Destiny was going to turn out good but look what happen. I doubt Halo 5 will last long. Just another FPS. I guarantee people will be posting negative comments about it when its been out for a couple of weeks. Gaming isn't what it used to be.

I remember them saying that they want the Halo universe to be as recognizable as Star Wars and Star Trek. That they want Halo to be up in popularity with the other big science fiction names.

Edited by Bloodylaser: 12/19/2014 10:59:18 PMPersonally they can't rely on Halo forever MS is going to need a new ip soon 30 years of Halo they really wanna be like Mario or Final Fantasy those franchises are nearly 30 years old old in fact Miyamoto said Mario turns 30 next year and Final Fantasy keeps existing because each new number in the series is usually a new universe, but Halo I don't see that happening I hope 343 was kidding I don't want to see them make Halo still in 2030 or 2040.

According to a statement from Bonnie Ross they want to keep the Halo universe alive for at least 30 years. Pretty crazy

I didn't like halo 4 much until I saw how disappointing destiny was and so if made me like halo 4 more, just because I knew bungie didn't make it.

Edited by High Charity: 12/19/2014 8:18:40 AMHopefully soon. Ideally Halo 3 should have finished the storyline, then ODST fleshing out events in New Mombassa and a Reach game that wasn't bad to end it with. Maybe a Harvest game as an ODST 2.

Why would Halo 5 bring the IP to an end? Even if it bombed (which it won't) Microsoft would still go ahead with Halo 6. For Halo to end would require multiple entries with diminishing quality and commercial success.

4 RepliesShort answers. Reach will get remastered I believe 5 will rejuvenate halo. It looks really good so far, minor concerns but saving it for testing. As far as the story and universe, I couldn't say. Long answer in spoiler. [spoiler] I think reach will get a anniversary remastering eventually. Lots of reach fans will be happy assuming it won't be broken. Halo has had some bumps in the road. Despite losing some fans halo has also gained fans. Perhaps not as much as we'd like but halo 4 despite being disliked by many older players, was liked by some of them and as well was the first halo some Newcomers played. Reach perhaps experienced something kinda similar. Then there's the crowd that just hates Change. Hell, if street fighter has a crowd still saying super gauges and combos etc. Ruined classic street fighter game play it isn't out of the ordinary a game like halo would have such a crowd . Mcc in a way I felt was made not only to honor halo, but to bridge the gaps of halo fans. To bring us all together. Despite stupid arguments over what's better, what ruined it, etc. It's obvious most halo fans are segregated into I like ce, 2,3,4, or reach. One MP is their ideal halo experience since they were all different. Then, we would all get to test halo 5 . The more testers the better. In an ideal world we would all be bumping shoulders over MP...playing amongst each other. Despite our differences we all benefit from having each other around. A populated world thrives while a empty world plunges and dives. Sadly, mcc had a HORRIBLE time. Its finally getting better. Which is good. Imo, I believe 5 will rejuvenate the halo population. Halo 5 should have been how halo 4 played. I'm looking forward to 5 a lot. Minor concerns, but I'll save those for the testing. As far as the story goes, I can't really comment on that. There's others who know so much more about the halo universe than I do. [/spoiler]

Halo Wars was great. All things considered, I still consider it a massive accomplishment that Ensemble got it working so well.
