Weird Whispers Heard in the Game
I am surprised no one else has heard them, but there has been at least two times when I have heard someone whisper a word to me in the game. I don't remember where (maybe Venus?) or what the first one said but I do remember the second one. At the tower, I stopped talking to the Shipwright and was leaping over the twisted cords to the left and heard someone whisper "escape."
Now the first one I heard I was playing with a friend online and he did not hear it. However, the second one my brother was watching me play and heard "escape" too. So maybe only I could hear it on my screen?
I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I am a level 26 Hunter and have both the expansion and have completed the main storyline.
Has anyone else heard this?

46 RepliesI have heard whispers from time to time in game. Mostly i can't tell what they are saying. Another weird thing I have noticed is that when I first started playing all the races just seems to grunt and say incoherent alien waffle as they charge at you. But more recently (especially with the fallen) I am sure I am starting to hear comprehensible words. I can't think of exact examples at the moment as it is only reading this post that I properly stopped and thought about it. But an example would be dregs talking to each other like shouting a warning would previously be "wibble wibble" is now staring to sound like "gheeett heeiimm"! It could just be bad hearing on my part and they have always been slightly understandable, or it could be that due to repetition that I am starting to pick up on something. :/ Anyone else noticed this or should I call the crazy bus? :D

I usually have TV or Netflix snapped to the side with the game volume lowered. Never really hear anything in the game unless I'm in a raid.

3 RepliesSupposedly before Destiny's story was in its final stages the speaker was supposed to be evil and attempting to kill the traveler. So the whispers could be something they didn't remove to save time. I just got a stereo headset and there is a lot of sounds in this game that seem strange to me now. I have heard whispers yet though.

2 RepliesI've heard crazy noises when I had my pumpkin head activated...but I don't doubt there are sound effects everywhere if you listen. I'd also point out the name of our fancy new duel-elemental fusion rifle everyone's hauling around - "Murmur."

1 ReplyAnyone who has played dead space can see the pattern of the traveler being something actually evil not mad for evil but not made for a purpose at all it's just a part of the universe just like in dead space and we went suppose to mess with it , the speaker playing the part of the colt leader brainwashing people into following and diying for the traveler , that's why you have factions like dead orbit who say things like ( escape ) and the ghost are kinda like the necro morphs of dead space , they revive you and bring you to the speaker which then after you do what ever you are told .

Heard this weird constant sound Most annoying thing ever Turned out my mate ninja joined my fire team and was making noise...

Now that Iron Banner is active and you can get to that area in the tower that is normally closed, there is also a spot almost right in the middle of that huge area where you can hear clear looping radiostatic and other odd noises, almost like a moan. Wish i could pinpoint that area better, but if you slowly walk that catwalk that has water on each side, you should come to a spot eventually that makes the noises. I found it during the Queens Wrath event some month or two ago. Use some good headset if possible, easier to hear.

3 RepliesThat is kind of near where the dead orbit guy is, their theme is escape, another commentator mentioned hearing war sounds near the fwc...these are ambient faction flavor SFX...spooky when you have surround sound or anything resembling it
