[i]The Secret of Monkey Island[/i] (on my Amiga 500) - There had been many games beforehand, but this one was truly, truly special :)
That and [i]Dungeon Master[/i] and [i]Eye of the Beholder[/i] too (and the original [i]Syndicate[/i]!)... Gods i spent so many hours ( Weeks... Years... lol) playing those games :)
And of course... If we want to go REAL old school... Then it would have to be [i]Zac McCracken and the Alien Mindbenders[/i], [i]Maniac Mansion [/i], the [i]Dizzy[/i] games, and[i] Elite [/i]on the C64 before that :)

Not so good when you had to protect VIP or no civilian casualty :)

Never in a game have civilians becomes so utterly determined to get themselves killed than in that game lol I have vague memories of one level, where the NPC's i had to protect had gotten themselves killed (AGAIN) and i circumvented it by actually 'Persuading' the entire civilian population on the map, and moved them out of the bloody way with one of my agents, and then send the others in to get the job done... Took me bloody ages :p
