In bungies defense, let me explain how RNG might be a good idea.
1: It increases the playability. If everything is random on a good game, people play it longer, grind, and hope for good drops.
2: It increases the excitement
3: It decreases the possibility of everyone running around with the same weapon (or armor on).
4: It adds curiosity to the player (I wonder what I'm fixing to get out of this chest).
Granted, there is a better way they could've approached RNG but instead they made it a hell hole.
Its great saying "Yeah I got the raid helmet today" to a friend and then him trying to get it and it not work out. I like RNG in the perspective of it being equality. Everyone has the SAME opportunity, but everyone has a different chance.
IMO? I kinda like RNG

RNG is good, but we want to AT LEAST be rewarded with SOMETHING for the time we put into the game. For what we do. Not for someone who will actually sit there, not touching the controller... and getting a reward. That's not RNG, that's just a poor system.

Playability? No, not even.
-
With so much disappointment after a while you loose interest and won't get excited.

I love RNG.

Edited by Level 2 on Easy: 12/18/2014 12:25:52 AMIts a mixed blessing. I hate it because I play it non-stop and haven't got the vex mythoclast yet. A guy I know from way back when barely plays the damn game and has it!! That's not even right. I think it should be: the more you play, the better the chance you have at getting it. The less you play, the lesser the chance.

The game would collapse....think about it.

RNG was obviously made with trading in mind
-
There isnt really enough unique items to bother with trading... they would have to make alot more different guns and gear to make it worth it
-
There are
-
Not really... everybody would have all the weapons in a week
-
-
By trading for them.... ?
-
You woul'd have to get things to trade
-
There are plenty of ppl who have dismantled more than one jelly horn... im sure they would trade and aquire other guns. It would not take long to aquire every exotic thru trade. In games like diablo where there is trade and auction houses.... all weapons are not equal like they are here... every suros regime rolls the same stats and perks, in diablo no 2 suros would be the same some would even suck
-
Ok...
-
My point is... there isnt enough quantity or variation to have a trade system... everybody would quickly trade duplicates, obtain every exotic, and stop playing very quickly

This.
