You're not special. You're not the reason we won. You're not The Dark Below equivalent of the relic holder in Vault of Glass. I've run all roles in the Crota battle, and sword carrier is by far the easiest and least stressful.
You're only job is to yell at everyone to shoot rockets. I did it with my Warlock, which has the worst jump, so don't tell me you need invisa-Hunters or Titans. The people taking care of the mobs and knights and bringing Crota to his knees (literally) are the heroes. And then you have the audacity to demand the chalice.
All you have to do is run at Swordbearer when he's almost dead and pick the sword up. You go to hide then scream at everyone to shoot rockets, then go poke him a few times and return to do the same. You bitch and moan about everyone not shooting enough rockets. I'll admit, the timing is the only "skill" related task of being the sword holder. If you can get there as he is taking the knee, you can do max damage.
To those comparing what you do to the VoG relic holder, you're delirious. You were for defense and mobs, not boss damage. Which is exactly the opposite of the sword holder. You would ask for rockets for the Minotaur, rarely got them, but you sucked it up and charged in.
So if you have the sword, enjoy your little vacation and be thanking the rest of the crew for carrying you through Crota.
