So I know you guys are just trying to help the noobs keep track of those shifty wizards but honestly you gotta let the pro players take the aim assist option off. First pvp is stupid with auto aim on for two reasons, one it's cheating, if you can't aim tough cookies girlfriend, go back on patrol and practice. The next reason is players can utilize this feature to "juke" your cross hairs effectively causing me to miss nearly every shot. A perfect example of this is when a sniper is standing in shooting corridor, as they do, meanwhile his buddy is running cover fire/distraction in the lane as well. If you are aiming on the sniper in the background and this distraction is strafing back and forth across the shooting lane it is impossible to target either player in the lane because my cross hairs are getting pulled back and forth all over the place. There is no point in even trying to play PVP for me as it is too frustrating to watch my cross hairs go out of my control. And if there is no point in my playing PVP honestly I don't want to play the game at all. I grind hard so I can bring shiny toys into the crucible, and you just piss all over my hard work by not letting me even aim my own gun. GTFO with this bull. K thx bai...

The creative excuses people make for sucking at different aspects of the game never ceases to amaze me. I'm not the best at PvP, I just admit it, I still have fun in it when I play. But maybe it's the aim assist :'D

Far Cry 4 has the option to turn off aim assist. I'll be playing that until further notice. l8
-
It's to help looks but it's easy af to play with
-
yeah can't tell you how many times I miss shots because of auto-aim...drives me crazy. hope someone higher up listens
-
Wait - there's an aim assist option for Destiny? WTF? And if you rely on that for PvP, your stats don't count...

I agree

I was shooting at somebody and right before he died, his friend ran in front of him and my sight followed him, so the original guy killed me, extremely annoying

You will never land a shot on a console shooter without it. Even if you could turn it off, it would do more harm than good. There is a reason console shooters have aim assist. It's not to make it super easy, it's to make it playable with joy sticks.

I agree. Aim assist makes people think they are much better than they are. Destiny is the worst too, auto head shots, wow!
-
Also not a fan of sticky aim
-
Also I am starting to see the light. I should stop playing destiny and go play Battlefield where you CAN turn off auto aim.

Edited by Scrotimere: 12/17/2014 3:16:05 PMAnother discussion on the Bungie forums about how bad auto aim is and here is one from Reddit a prominent Destiny Clan http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/297x41/aim_assist_off/

You think very highly of your skills. I don't think you could spank "noobs" who use the assist aim. You have a few guys on here making really good points about the aiming features in modern gaming. I also do recall any feature to turn the aim assist off in halo nor did I know any people who played like that. With no aim assist it would be like trying to snipe a teammate from far away. You shoot a whole bunch and then you'd complain about that. Aim assist is around for a reason get over it, heck use it to you're advantage. Just stop acting like your amazing.

More problems with aim assistance in other games.
-
Bump bump bump this needs fixed
-
there's aim assist...? :3 woops
-
I'll admit that aim assist is occasionally annoying when you're trying to snipe some colossus and legionaries keep jumping in the way and shifting your aim around but overall it helps.
-
and then if it was taken off, you would be complaining that you have to do everything yourself.
