I would just like to say this because I have seen some of the stupidest reason regarding being able to play or not play the out planets (Gas giants)
I would like to get the record straight and say that THE GAS GIANTS WILL NOT BE PLAYABLE SPACE. The planets will not be playable, but the MOONS MANY be. This means that the Traveler may have Tara formed the moons and they may be playable.
It embarrasses me that I need the clarify this... But I have been reading the posts from these kids trying to prove people wrong by saying"there's a surface under the clouds and you can walk on it!" There is a core, but the pressure is so -blam!-ing unfathomablely strong, that it's not even worth talking about.
But before you say
"Helljumper, what about the Traveler's space magic!"
No amount of space magic could fix that.
The only exception to the gas giants would be a structure similar to the thing(I forgot the name) from the 3rd or 4th Halo 2 mission.
Please bump this so as many people can see this!
And if you have any other theories about it, I'm all ears...
Edit 1: to all of the people talking about the moon... All you would need to do is add mass.
And if need be move further away from earth

Stop getting worked up about things other people say. If someone says something ignorant...on an Internet forum...about a video game, just let it go. Your post indicates an unhealthy need to prove some sort of superior intelligence. Breathe...laugh to yourself about how dumb people are...continue with your life. No disrespect intended, just trying to help extend your life by lowering your blood pressure/stress. :)
-
You get to visit all the gas giants on warframe, and that doesn't use the almighty traveller space magic
-
so i assume that Jupiter and Saturn isn't built into the game yet. If your Avatar can ride sparrows all across the moon, venus, and mars, just like its done on earth, then a made robotic orb can be placed in the atmosphere of the Gas giants so that Guardians can continue to push back the darkness
-
Believe me, man. I get everything you're saying, and I know it would be stupid if we played on a gas giant, because it's impossible. HOWEVER, Bungie already confirmed a month or two after revealing Destiny in 2013 that all of the planets in the solar system ( even Saturn ) will be playable at some point. Yes, it's impossible. Yes, it's kind of stupid. But it's Sci-Fi. Sorry. *shrug*
-
Do you really think little things like logic, physics or reality mean anything to Bungie? Destiny doesn't exactly shoot for the 'realistic' genre of games.
-
The traveler equalized the gravity of all the planets, he can do anything bruh.
-
Edited by Trooper8059: 4/19/2015 1:56:55 AMI always thought we couldn't go to the outer planets because of the Queen's massive blockade in the Asteroid Belt. But don't forget the Traveler teraformed the planets.
-
Please watch Star Wars Hint: Cloud City, Bespin
-
I imagine an age where killer robots and an obese race of what ever the -blam!- the Cabal are is very different than today, so in saying this possibly technology is very different, and to add to this further it's a -blam!-ING GAME DUDE!!!!!
-
I was like "okay this is okay" until I read the line "no space magic could fix that" and that's when I realized how scrub the OP was. Shame on you OP, this is a video game in which every planet has been terraformed so your statement is completely invalid.
-
But what about the Traveler's space magic?
-
No, we can play on gas giants.
Cloud City, Bespin
-
Hey dude I want you to give me 20 science fiction games that use real science. An ps. no one gives a crap about science in destiny its frickin DESTINY.
-
It's a fictional video game. The rules of science no longer apply. That is your answer to this stupid post
-
Can anyone second that this guy is a total DOUCHE!
-
Dear OP, The following is some true logic that will disprove everything you said: ANY new playable content will be welcomed by all. It doesn't matter where.
-
What if the traveler uses "space magic" to super-condense the gas planets. Causing their surface to resemble an icy, crystallized base? Imagination!
-
Tara formed? The traveler makes planets into drug addled, surgery ruined, failed movie star chicks? I would play that story I guess...
-
FYI it rains diamonds on Jupiter and Saturn. Add in 600+km/h winds and well you'd be shredded.
-
people are literally so stupid as they over think things. can't play on a gas giant? WE PLAY ON -blam!-ING MARS VENUS AND THE MOON ITS A -blam!-ING GAME.
-
Ah yes, science. There's so much science in Destiny...
-
Oh we'll play on Jupiter, BECAUSE THE ORACLES WILL ALLOW IT.
-
Have you heard of science-fiction where anything is possible? Go check the grimoire cards if you think that we won't be able to play on those"gas planets". Seriously though enough with this science BS because this is a freaking game and don't forget it.
-
Because logic applies to every video game.
-
The angular velocity of a planet has absolutely no influence on a planet's gravity. Only its mass and radius does. I'm not sure where you got that idea...
-
The grimoire cards talk about Jupiter being a sea of ice or something like that. So I'm being it is playable area but probably in like the third game expansion 9001. Idk it's a video game deal with it
