This was really well put and I really worry about this in Destiny given that it is already here and the spoilers to House of Wolves suggests more of it. I think it was awful that the people who played Destiny in Alpha have to turn their exotics into Xur to get them to be comparable levels to those same exotic in beta. It is awful that the people who played Iron Banner early on saw the power of their weapons drop with the new expansion. They should have just upgraded them. People are constantly going to higher end weapons and feeling upset that they have to do this to keep up. The new armor in House of Wolves will go to 36!? NO, you need to decide what the level is and stick to what the highest level will be; at least for a much longer time frame. You have a ten year plan and this will cause new people to feel that they could never keep up and older players to get board of the constant grind. People want to level their character and then reap the benefits of doing this by getting the most out of them. It is lazy to get people to keep grinding just to keep up (which is already a bit to pervasive in the game) instead of building new content for the players to enjoy. I have put in over 8 days of play and have worked hard to just get them to a level in which I could stop and focus on play and getting a few new exotics as the next set arrives. At some point I'm just going to give up if Bungie's goal is simply keep making my gear out classed. This is why I gave up other games. I love Destiny and I want it to succeed, but this is a serious issue that I hope they tackle!
