This DLC doesn't really expand the story in any way except for giving us a new vista to look at in the raid. Hive haven't received any more exposition on their background than we had before, the mini-story arc doesn't give us new information or weighty story like was suggested would be delivered with this game. What's even worse is that the Urn of Sacrifice quest chain is long, offers low reputation and gives you gloves that are as good or worse than the vanguard ones depending on your play style. In essence, they had the amount of work required to get an exotic, and instead we got a disposable purple that will get replaced as dismantled as soon as a raid piece is acquired. Underwhelmed doesn't really cover it with the DLC, and so far doesn't bode well for future content - the same mistakes in unrewarding gameplay at launch are still being bludgeoned in now, only worse in my opinion.
I have zero faith in Bungie's project now, and shan't invest money into future DLC's pending the next one which is included in the season pass.
