DLC is gold, people!

Studies show consistently happy people believe they don't need exact or even substantial control over their lives. They live in the moment and roll with the punches. The way people are talking about these new changes makes them seem very impatient and angry, on a basic level, independent of these environmental influences. Okay, I'm done about that... Now, the DLC offers new challenges and offers ways of keeping us playing as much of the game as possible. How y'all don't get this is a good thing is beyond me. Like, did you complain when you had to level up your new Guardian to trade out old gear earlier in the game? No. Why now, then? Is it because you've become too complacent after hitting high levels and getting your legendaries? Maybe it's because you seem to have forgotten about the expected longevity of this Destiny thing (only about 10 years left). This game will have tons of likeable updates and dislikable updates. This should be understood as opinionated, but it's this way for all of us. Now that you have to put in work to hit the level cap again, people say it's become disgraceful and unbelievable and too difficult and blah blah blah... It's a game. Yes, it does have breaks and bugs and questionable systems in place, and the weekly playlist has been exposed as very troublesome. BUT it's an on-going process, in which the game and gamer will experience changes. And still, all things considered, it is a game designed to be sold for money and played for fun and drawn out for almost another decade. Seriously, the longevity thing is a huge deal, as this "tiering" process, or something similar, will probaly happen again and again. Do some research and you'll find this isn't a first in gaming history. However, if you're easily over-attached to gear, dislike the grind, argue there is too little content to this DLC (which is debatable), and/or are getting frustrated by the game's direction; it should be clear this game might not be for you. It's for as many people will buy and play it, and apparently there are those immune to Bungie's charms. TL;DR - the game will progress one way or another, regardless of community frustration, for a long time (that's the plan, at least). New level caps and better gear will keep coming. Materialism is cancer.

    • All preexisting legendaries and exotics should have been automaticly raised to new light and dmg levels. The Xur upgrade system is shit, tower gear having more light than vog gear is absurd, and making all the work in the base game obsolete is insanity. DLC is shit until they fix so many things.

    • And as far as your obsolete legendaries go, it would be such a waste of Bungie's time if they threw all of this new gear at us just for us to ignore it for the weapons we've already upgraded. Logic, guys. Use it.

      • I agree with this. I'd admit I had some concerns about the DLC but after I gave up on thinking about it and actually played, I enjoyed every minute of it.

      • If your being serious that you think you payed 20-30 dollars on literally 3 missions 2 strikes and a raid, and think it's worth your money. Your outrageous! You really think this changed he game. The people who don't have DLC still can get to 31 the people without the DLC can still get the new weapons. Barely anything changed. I was so excited for something new ally in Destiny and it gave me an hours worth

              • Your opening statement is very true; however, the argument can be made that change does not arise from acceptance. There has to be middle ground. I believe a vast majority of people (that post on the boards anyway) fit into a grey area with Destiny... they are disappointed by the state of the game and expansion, but have been longtime fans of Bungie's work, as such they want to give feedback to shape the game into what they had hoped it would be. The frustration comes from continuous misguided and downright baffling design decisions that Bungie seems to continue to make. The more they attempt to fix/add content, the more issues and complaints that arise. Then to be told every Thursday "We hear you" but continue to make the same mistakes, it is irritating. Yes the game is evolving... but Bungie doesnt seem to grasp that in most player's eyes they are playing 'catch up' and that it is not happening nearly fast enough for players to stick around.
