unable to play since DLC

Right......i've finally had enough of this. Ever since the dlc, disconnects, chat issues in game and a number of animal names as error codes. First off, this is NOT AN ISSUE WITH MY INTERNET. Every other game works without a problem online, so it's clearly a big server problem that isn't getting fixed. Even logged in to WOW on the PC and what do you know, nothing wrong. Battlefield 4...no issues. COD......no issues. GTA....no issues. Sort of getting a pattern here ^^ I, like many others have paid for the game and the dlc and I can't even get logged in to play for more than 10 minutes at a time. It's getting ridiculous. I've even resorted to a complete uninstall and re-install and it's not fixing anything. Resetting my router, changing NAT settings the lot. No change. I think it's about time we got a decent reply and a proper server fix. All these error codes and links to the bungie help site do nothing to fix what is clearly a server issue. Just acknowledge the fact for once and give us a proper fix!

  • can confirm having the same problem on my xbone. can play for maybe 2 minutes tops, and then i get disconnected. Also the loading screens are super long (and usually fail anyways), even loading from the main menu.

    • Thank god it's not just me, I had a relatively error free time in destiny until the DLC dropped, since then I've had every single error in the game, can't hear 2 of my 3 friends in chat, (changes randomly, one party I can hear one guy, new party it's the other one) My internet is fine, it's since the DLC dropped this is happening, need it sorted pronto.

    • Hi Enigamic, I'm sorry for the disconnection issues here. Bungie is aware some players are having trouble maintaining a connection and are investigating reports like yours. We also acknowledge that, in some cases, a resolution for these sort of issues may be upstream from a home network. A great way to test if you are in this situation is to follow the steps here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12147 We will continue to investigate reports like yours and as more info becomes available we will share it.

        Been waiting for my check to get the Dlc watching my friends play all week. We setup a new Raid and I bought the dlc at 8:30. Its 11:30 and I still cant even sign in to the server. Put in Halo, smooth. Put in B4 ,smooth. Put in Destiny, F u. Its not peoples rowders. If your rowder isnt compatible with xbox live you cant even sign in. Its Bungies shit beta wannabe halo failure. I feel better knowing I tbagged every flaming head (bungie employee) I ever killed on H3.

      • Same here. I actually played the 3 story missions that make up TDB but haven't been able to play for more than a couple of minutes at a time since downloading the update yesterday; I can't even get to the Tower without getting errors of various species. No problems with other games or anything else on our Xbone which would imply it's a server problem but can't seem to get any kind of response from Bungie. If it is the case that I need to buy a new modem just to play this game as someone suggested then Destiny's destiny will be as a trade in at Asda, I expect there'll be a few in there

      • Seriously Bungie have you not been monitoring this thread since you posted your "it's not our fault it's your internet" post. We're not idiots so stop treating us like we are. We are paying customers that are unhappy with a defective product that you've sold us. Would we like you to fix it? Of course but even more so we would like you to give us the courtesy of NOT treating us like morons. This is a widespread issue with 1 common denominator, YOU. We understand that an issue this big probably can't be fixed overnight but to leave us hanging with your only response being "it's your internet" is plain insulting. I actually took time off work so that I could really enjoy the whole "forging a new destiny" experience. Fat waste of holiday days this has been. This is the second night running where I've turned of the game & gone to something that doesn't disconnect every 2 to 3 minutes (lucky to get that sometimes). As a customer I demand some sort of response. If you need evidence of how damaging this sort of "head in the sand" approach can be just look at what happened to CoD Ghosts. None of the guys I played BO's 2 with bought Ghosts after we all got feed up with the "mushroom" treatment. STOP keeping us in the dark & STOP feeding us Bullsh1t.

      • Like youself and many others I am in the same boat! ever since TDB content install everything has just gone haywire, checked all software and equipment, PS4 initialisation then clean install, no other connections to my internet!!!! it's ridiculous how the errors are given to you in the form of a bloody nature species and no official recognition from WHOEVER the hell is in charge of this Destiny game. One of the most addictive games I've come across but so help me I'm on verge of demanding refund on season pack + returning hardcopy to retailer. FOR GODSAKE SOMEBODY FIX IT!

      • Exact same issue. Never had one single disconnect from Destiny servers due to an error until Xur came this morning. Now I can't even get to the freakin' Tower without getting caterpillar errors. Would really love a fix to this ASAP as I'd like to play the expansion.

      • Same here. Was working perfectly until the DLC went live. Tried playing other online games (ie. League of Legends, CoD, Counter strike, NBA even starcraft2) and there was not a single problem! Please BUNGIE! For God's sake! fix it! I've been looking forward to play this DLC yet it's unplayable with all those stupid error codes even after all your "instructions" on how to get rid it. Hell i even resorted on phoning my Internet service provider just to ask if there's something wrong with my Internet and router. or if they have any ongoing repairs around our area to which they said NONE and that my Internet is perfectly fine.. So obviously the problem is on your side. Paying £35 for something that I can't play is beyond frustrating so yeah. FIX IT!!!!!!!

      • £20 quid for errors. wouldn't even call it dlc without the errors and let's not get into the fact that the EXACT sme dlc is $20. my network settings are fine. nat is open. full bar signal. everything else works. and if you tell me to check my network settings again you can come and do it yourself.

        Same problem well over 500 error codes since dlc came out get in game for 3 mins then error code

      • Exactly the same issues for me. Games worked fine since day one. Since DLC I've had nothing but connection issues. Tried rebuilding database, reinstalled the game, rested router etc Multiple failures not one specific.

      • Exotics take TOO LONG to upgrade. I just resented 4 exotics with Xur to get the new damage upgrade but my energy did not reset to do it all over again , and again with the next dlc and again and again and again.

      • I'm also having the exact same issue, but ever since downloading the DLC from the Playstation Store it's not just affecting Destiny Servers, I'm now also having issues with Ea servers and when trying to play GTA. I've never had an issue like this before. When I go to test Internet connection it says that I'm connected to the Internet and have a strong connection!!!

      • I'm with you on this. I'm having the same issues, Since the last major DLC download last week, my ability to connect to Destiny servers has been severely compromised... and seems to be getting worse by the day. Last night... I couldn't play at all, as I would get dropped once tried going anywhere from orbit [usually caterpillar, hawk, fly, weasel]. That is... when I could actually get to orbit [I wouild be signed out of XBL once I booted up Destiny, right after selecting my character]. I had none of these issues prior to last week's download. I have a static IP for my XBOX 360, port forwarded all specified ports and my XBOX is included in the DMZ. This has been the setup for the past year... and i've not adjusted it. I find it difficult to believe that my cable modem / router is the issue... as it hasn't been an issue since I purchased the game. In fact... the only times I seem to have connection issues with Destiny have been when there was a major DLC downloaded. Usually the connection would stabilize after a few days - not so this time around. Seems to be getting worse. I can play ALL other games without issue as well. So to suggest that the issue is with my network connection that was working perfectly fine for Destiny before the DLC seems a little suspect.

        • I also had these exact problems for four weeks thinking it was Bungie or their servers. in the end it was my modem. if you have Comcast and or the technocolor modem, that is where your problem lies. I switched out the technocolor modem for the ARRIS series modem (no cost to do so) and played for over four hours last night without a signal error or disconnect. Comcast even verified that their technocolor modem did not work with xbox or playstation.

        • i was able to dl and play the DLC, but ever since i downloaded it, i havent been able to play any strikes with matchmaking. looks like that has taken a hit as well. anyone else have this issue?

        • I've also had problems since the DLC landed - Kingfisher, Baboon (no I don't connect my internet through a hotspot from my phone), Beaver and also telling me that some one else is logged into my account. It's ruining my complete addiction to this game and it's a gamble trying to do anything like raids, nightfall etc. It would be great if there was any kind of update from Bungie on what's going on with this. I can't be bothered to going back to doing things like socialising, meeting people, that kinda stuff. I just want to play DESTINY!

        • having the same problems since the big update. lets be honest here, Bungie will most likely reply by saying how "aware" they are of the problems and that they will "try" to fix it and in the mean time divert your attention to that it could be your network problems by sending you some link which most of the time doesnt help at all because its not us thats having the problems. for me, its been over 3 weeks since that big update and my problems haven't been solved yet, i missed out on Iron Banner because of those errors and now i can't even enjoy the DLC because i keep getting animal errors every 10min. so if we are expecting Bungie to actually fix this server problems anytime soon then we should be prepared to be disappointed.
