DLC - This is what's wrong
Okay I see many people complain about the DLC faction gear that gets you to level 31 and many people respond that this is the MMO style. Old gear is used to aquire better gear in the upcoming DLC.
[b]That is not the case.[/b]
[b][i]The problem[/i][/b] is that the VoG gear doesnt help you aquire the new gear. You could buy the game today and be level 31 before a guy that played since the Beta.
[b][i]The solution (1) [/i][/b] would be that new players start just like every other player did. They have the old (light 27) and the new (light 33) faction gear available but in order to buy the new (light 33) gear they first have to get to 30 by doing the VoG or completing events eg Iron Banner.
[b][i]The solution (2)[/i][/b]
I would suggesst the following. I will do it for every upcoming raid and refer it to the VoG because it was the first one available.
To obtain the current max light level you either need:
- The new raid gear
or
- The new raid gear, dismantle it for (example) raid core
+ VoG gear
Then add the raid core to the VoG gear to up its light level to the max.
This way no old player will feel bad and the newer players would have 2 raids to play. Seriously who plays the VoG for gear now?

Trade in VoG raid gear for the new faction gear (light 33). This way people who have done the VoG and got lucky will be well prepared for the new raid.
Edit: At the current state this is no expansion it does not expand the current game. It changes the game.
The "story" missions have no story. Eris tells you what she already said in the trailer and you do the same stuff as before.

5 RepliesThe problem is people take people getting gear easier than they did the wrong way. If everyone was highest, how would that make the game worse? I was a 30 since week three. I've already got a full set of light 33 now. Id be happy if everyone did. Larger player pools for raids, nightfall, etc. And better battles in PvP because they could run all the content that is more likely to drop better gear... How does it hurt you (other than needing to feel superior) that they can get to 31? And being a 30 did help you. The content was easier for you than them. You can dry it didn't, but when i put on my new gear, my mythoclast went 602 crit to 384 on the same target. That was from 30 to 29. Say it didn't make our easier ask you want, the numbers day differently. Point is, worry about you toon and stop worrying about everyone else's.

4 RepliesI think they should add another upgrade for old weapons to bring them inline with the new gear. I love my current weapon, but it will be obsolete now there are more powerful weapons. Maybe have the same option for Exotic and Raid gear and obtained from VoG. Also can they fix the Hunter's throwing knife activation to make it different from the melee. I also think that class specific gear like bonds and cloaks should be more than just aesthetic.

7 RepliesThe game isn't just the raid. Some people want to play PVP. Others like PvE but don't want to raid. They forfeit the right to get to the level cap. They should not have to forfeit all progression in the game because 20% of players who raid just want to feel special a while longer.

Those that got to 30 will get to 32. The infrastructure of clans, friends, luck and dedication got you all to 30, it will get you to 32 also.

3 RepliesI have a different angle, why didn't they just up the stats of gear dropped from the vault after the DLC to vendor level? I would have been happy to continue doing that raid again for comparable gear, it would have added aesthetic diversity, and most importantly it would have given anyone who hasn't done the vault yet a reason to do so!! As it stands the only people going in there anymore would be for a chance at the exotic chest and a chance for an exotic from atheon...

Attempt #12 and still fail because of overkill from number of enemies like seriously even vog is better than this raid, -blam!- dark below raid unless you tweak our guns to 400-1000 damage then we might stand a chance but I guess the people that actually beat the raid were allowed to use hacks/mods for either God mode or aim bot to the head every single bloody bullet. Bungie how are we supposed to survive this raid and WHERE THE HELL ARE OUR GHOST FLASHLIGHTS?!

3 RepliesI still intend on running the raid as I always seem low on ascendant material Also the Mythoclast is still a beast so there's that too. Add in the fact that the VoG is still fun and useful to put into your weekly rotation. Long story short: my fingers are crossed that my guild still runs the Vault.
