There has been a long running issue that Bungie has acknowledged in the above tweet over a month and a half ago. The issue is that we have not heard anything about the issue since then, and it's still a common occurrence with no solution.

[b]THE MAIN ISSUE:[/b] Storing items in the tower vault may get them deleted at random. This applies to any items in the vault.
[b]POSSIBLE RELATED ISSUE:[/b] Items being carried by player characters going missing at random. This also applies to any items held by the player in their inventory.
[b]POSSIBLE RELATED ISSUE:[/b] Player characters being entirely deleted when logging out and back in. There may also be a few other ways that this can occur. The end result is entire characters being removed from the player account. This includes the entire character inventory as well when this happens.

The most we have heard about the problem is that Bungie is aware of it and working to improve character data tracking. No solution has been found and [u]the problem has not been fixed[/u].
My attempt over the last month and a half at this point. Has been to try to get any information regarding the issue as possible. However getting a response from any of the support staff has been nearly impossible. In my entire month and a half of sending messages to support both on these forums and through Twitter, I have received a total of ONE actual response with very vague information.

This response does not contain any new information and if you actively search for occurrences of this issue. You will find that they have been being reported since early November. You can still find at least one daily occurrence of this issue searching these forums or Reddit/r/DestinyTheGame as well as a few other forums.
These are just SOME of the older reported cases. Maybe the support team can read through these and gather some information to determine a solution.

So is Bungie's plan to just ignore the issue and hope it goes away by itself? Has this been fixed yet? This is basically a bump more or less.

Just logged on to see what the holiday/year end gift would be.... Grab the package. Badger CCL. Already have one with firefly but shrug it off as RNGesus. Open the inventory to see what the roll is..... Original is gone and the roll on the new one is terrible. String of expletives.

However it doesn't clarify if it's only the character deletion bug, or the vault items going missing issue. One could assume both issues are the same, but the way it's worded makes it a bit unclear.

I would like to know this too. I would hate to risk losing everything by playing the game. So far everything is fine but it would be nice to have an update so we know for sure if it's fixed or not.

So it's been a while since I posted this. Still no reply, not even from a normal forum moderator? When I initially posted this there were quite a few moderators replying to topics. So I'm actually surprised this got by without a response. I get it, the mods that are here are trying to help people with real game breaking issues, but is this vault thing not also game breaking? Wouldn't it be worth a few seconds to reply as a support member to help me maintain my faith in Bungie as a company, it makes no sense it's impossible to get a reply from anyone. So come on, does any support even read these forums? In the last 4 hours, I've seen countless replies from @DestinyTheGame on Twitter to people. I've messaged that account a couple of times with no replies. I don't understand why I am being ignored for asking what I think is a rather important question about a game breaking bug being fixed or not.

So is there some sort of trick to getting support to actually support people? Or do they just ignore everyone that isn't asking a question about the Tumbler, or an animal error? There's no way I'm going to buy DLC for this game, let alone bother playing it anymore if support doesn't exist, so really Bungie, prove to me your support exists, at least say "Hi" to me. To clarify since I edited the title the other night, and I will add this back to the main post the next time I edit it. The original issue was that players were having items deleted from the tower vault at random. Usually between switching characters from reports that I have read. Only on very rare cases have I seen people say the items had returned after logging in and out a few times. Most people seem to not get the items back at all. I'm going to clarify that I have not lost anything yet. So I am NOT asking for items being returned, I am asking if the main issue has been fixed with the expansion or before in one of the earlier patches. If someone from Bungie support doesn't even know the answer to my question, please reply anyway. I'm starting to think you guys are a myth, and there's no way I'm supporting a company that ignores it's users over simple issues.

Still no reply from BungieHelp0 yet on the previous statement. I'm trying to figure out exactly what they meant by it, they were vague. "we have no additional information to share regarding character data loss." Is the "character data loss" referring to lost characters, and disappearing inventory and vault items? Yes? No? One could assume yes, but it sounded like they didn't understand I wasn't talking about losing characters, but instead losing ITEMS.

Ya every time a new update is available i get worried im gonna lose everything. Updates r sposed to b helpful and exciting but bungies updates make things worse and r actually quite scary.

INFORMATION HERE IS STILL RELEVANT BUT PLEASE READ UPDATED ORIGINAL POST.[/b] Okay, so Bungie posted this issue over a month ago and mentioned they were looking into it. https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/528985722993520640 I knew about the issue, but didn't know how wide spread it was until I started seeing reports of it on these forums as well as on Reddit. Once I learned how big of an issue it actually was, I stopped playing intending to wait for a fix. I figured there was no sense in risking my time to be wiped out by a bug at random, so I could better use my time elsewhere until an update about the issue came around. Here's the problem... It's been over a month with NO UPDATE on the issue, and I still see reports of it happening. I have tried contacting @Bungie and @BungieHelp on Twitter multiple times over the last month with no responses. I have also tried contacting @DeeJ_BNG on Twitter as well, with yet again no response. I have yet to buy the DLC, at this point because of how long it has taken to get a single support response. A simple "yes" or "no" in terms of if the issue has been fixed yet, or even an updated "we're still aware of the issue and still looking for a fix" would not be THAT much to ask for in terms of a reply to my attempts at contact. Does Bungie even have such a thing as customer support? I thought DeeJ was suppose to be a community manager, isn't it his job to answer questions such as this? If not him, then isn't BungieHelp support supposed to respond to these types of questions? I have not personally lost any items yet that I am aware of, but I have simply just been trying to ask SOMEONE at Bungie, anyone at this point. If this issue has been fixed, is still being looked into, or what. I don't care who at Bungie responds at this point, but the fact I can't get a response is sickening in terms of their level of support. AKA None What-so-ever. So throw me a bone here Bungie, someone answer me, it's a simple question, I can't believe giving a response to the progress on the issue is so hard. Still nothing on this? My Xur-upgraded exotic (Apotheosis Veil) was randomly demoted back to it's un-upgraded state. I know there are worse things that can happen, but it's making it very difficult to get to 31.

I bought a helmet engram last week. When to cryptarch to decode it. Got disconnected with weasel while deciphering it. Lost the motes, engram, and got no helmet either.

So, as you can probably tell by the fact I haven't responded to this topic in quite a while... I have started to give up on Bungie and Destiny in general based on the overall support I seem to sense this game is getting. [u][b]Bungie, ANYONE, has their been ANY new information on this game breaking issue that is mentioned in this topic?[/b][/u] I honestly don't expect to get a response. Because at this point I'm starting to think Bungie doesn't even care about their game. They have my money already, so customer support seems unlikely after over 2 months...

Weekend push to the top for awareness. [b][u]Anyone who reads this please upvote the main topic so Bungie can get their act together and patch this major issue.[/u][/b] It may not have happened to YOU yet, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't get patched ASAP. If and when it does happen to YOU, you will wish you had said something sooner. Bungie refuses to restore item's and characters that are lost due to this bug, it's not the players fault this happens. So act now, let's get it fixed so we can play without fear of losing what we have put so much time into. Bungie knows this issue is there, but they aren't doing anything about it. If they are doing something about it, they are being way too quite about it.
