Is the Thorn worth it?
I have the depleted hand cannon bounty and i know it's the thorn but 500 void kills? that will take ages. So if you have any input on what you think of it plz tell me! :)

I soloed Xyor the unwed for it! Was painful but worth it.

Yes the Thorn is worth it. The Thorn is the only weapon in Destiny that is truly earned.

I'm terrible at PvP, (k/d usually below 1.0) and I got it done with Atheons epilogue, plug one, and a void Deviant Gravity. Play control, stick with your teammates cuz assists count too, try not to die, if you're about to don't be afraid to go take cover for a minute. I love thorn, especially since hand cannons are more viable than auto rifles now. Good luck! ;)

500 void kills? Its hard, but not that hard. Definitely worth it.

1 ReplyIt is not 500 kills, but 500 points. If I understand it right, you get 5 points for each kill by headshot, and 3 points for each kill by body shot. You lose 2.5 points for every death ... Hence the "death will slow your progress."

I've got it twice and it is a fun gun... The DOT effect from the poison ability annoys players and they moan saying it's over powered but it isn't. All hand cannons kill in 3-4 shots. It's one exotic bounty I'm glad I did. With void point kills I found it best to use void fusion/LMG combo and played control, just cover flags and you'll do it in no time

It's not 500 void kills, but 500 points from void kills. If I remember right, it's 5 points per kill and either 2 or 3 points subtracted every time you die. The gun is definitely worth it's and fun to use!

Atheons epilogue or word of crota, void special, void heavy. Took me 3 matchs and a few kills in 4th match

It is probably the only exotic bounty in the game where the reward justifies the difficulty getting it. Yes, it is a pain to get the Thorn, even to Destiny vets. But, when you do get it and you unlock the poison perk, you will realize that all that pain was all worth it.
