I am really excited for the dark below and trying out the new raid. Although when I was researching the dlc I found out about the new exotics. The weapons look really cool with fun new mechanics, but some of the armor is rather lacking.
ATS/8 Arachnid ( Your Golden Gun zooms in for accuracy when aimed) - Honestly the golden gun does not need zoom. The majority of encounters are easily handled with the current optics and very few PvP maps would have an area that it would be useful. I could see it used on bastion or first light and that is about it. On smaller maps the additional zoom could make it harder to use. I think that the design is very cool so I would want to wear it but it sucks right now. The concept of improving the target acquisition while using golden gun has merit though. If the ability instead highlighted nearby enemies than it would be much more useful. If when a person comes into the range where the mini map flashes the middle portions or center circle than the player could see the enemy through walls as a red outline. I feel that this would be a good mix of effective without being overpowered. The range requirement helps to balance the ability. I know my suggestion is not perfect, but it would actually be used and compete with the 4-shots offered by the Achlyophage Symbiote.
Don't Touch Me (Taking damage from a melee attack makes you briefly invisible.) - I was excited to see some more exotic gauntlets in the game especially with the description "Amputated from a creature that stumbled out of a Vex gate. A vestigial defensive reflex still remains." I was hoping for something either useful or entertaining, but got neither. If you are getting hit by a melee attack you are either already screwed (PvP) or blinking away (PvE) which might I add will also remove your invisibility. It just is not a effective exotic. I could only see it used if we are allowed to equip multiple exotics. It could become more entertaining if it gave an ability like drops an arcbolt grenade when hit by a melee but that would lead to a lot more trades. I could also see it giving hungering blade and escape artist similar to the titan helm of inmost light.
Radiant Dance Machines (You move more quickly while aiming your weapon) - I love these and I am going to try and get them ASAP. Although, Bungie missed out based on what I have seen in the trailer videos. These boots need to have their own alternate dance that is totally awesome! The exotic boots are the dance machines they should make everyone drool at the end of a strike or during a tower flash mob.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Increases the duration Shoulder Charge remains active.) - These seem like a good idea, but they are exotics so there is no need to be stingy with the abilities. Make the shoulder charge stay up until you use it. It is not that big of a difference, but if I am going to choose these over my helm of inmost light or Armamentarium then I want it to be worth it. Also It could reduce the blurred screen effect when shoulder charge is active. These boots should take shoulder charge to the next level and are rather unimpressive right now.
Ruin Wings (Heavy ammo drops are more frequent and they contain more ammo in each drop) - These I like except for that fact that the first part has no effect in PvP. I know there is a chance of random ammo drops being a heavy ammo but It really makes very little difference. For these they are cool I just had the small comment.
Some of this might seem harsh, but I am merely stating my opinion of the exotics thus far. I know these suggestions are not perfect and not everyone will agree with them, But that is because they are SUGGESTIONS! Although RDA really should have an alternate dance. I realize that this is probably too late to make it in the game before the dlc but it is food for Bungie's thoughts when house of wolves comes out. Right now the only reason I see for the poor quality of some of these is if they are going to let us equip more exotics at one time. They have done a really good job with some exotics while neglecting others (similar to previous situation with bad juju/ thorn). I really hope that they take some of this into consideration. If you have any constructive ideas for the exotics share them and maybe if we are lucky Bungie will add them in.

There are also a set of hunter boots that provide an extra jump, which I would love to combine with directional control or blink. I'm interested in these because mobility upgrades are always my preferred option in any game. Uh, not sure if they're coming with this expansion or the next, though.
