MW1 & MW2 are really under appreciated for their stories. They were great.

I beg to differ. at least in my neck of the woods, everyone wanted MW3 because we wanted to know how the story ended

Yeah, people wanted MW3, but the problem is MW3 came out to be shit in comparison to the first two. You don't create buildup for the protagonist taking out the antagonist, then suddenly and shittily kill off the protagonist.
