Devs, Mods, Ninjas, and Community Managers can't say it, but you're idiots.
You really want to leave the Exotics behind? No?
Then you want your exotics maxed to the new level without work, lessening play time and content? No?
Guess you're just an idiot.
Edit: Here's a good idea, too (from this thread, at that):
LusciousNips34:
People are complaining about the way Bungie has gone about it. They could have just added extra nodes to the gun/armor that would have taken just as much work to upgrade, but no, that would have made too much sense.

"You really want to leave the Exotics behind? No? Then you want your exotics maxed to the new level without work, lessening play time and content? No?" This is a logical fallacy known as a false dilemma, and it's disingenuous. There are other options, such as allowing us to keep our perks while requiring us to continue upgrading the damage level. Unless the upgrades offer different perks I see no reason to make us do more grinding to unlock them again. I doubt seriously that Truth 2.0 will have better enemy tracking, for example, so why should I have to grind through more play to turn that on again just to get a higher Attack rating?
