Chapter 1: Home World
Part 1: Crash Course
[Watching the video of the astronauts finding the Traveler on Mars]
[Cuts to black screen the narrator voice says, “We found a miracle, but with it came consequences.”]
The Ghost flies around a destroyed highway in Old Russia, Earth. Rusted heaps of automobiles and large metallic gray clumps cover the landscape. The Ghost flies up to one of the clumps and peers into a broken window on its side. Inside is that of a crack helmet revealing a skeletal head. The Ghost ponders, “This one is too far gone.” It flies around some more checking old cars and other escape pods. A war cry is heard off in the distance as the Ghost finds your pod. The window is intact, and the person inside is dormant. The Ghost opens up and begins executing the revival process.
(Now in first person view) You wake up seeing a little floating eyeball peering at you through a window. “Oh great, you’re alive! You have been dead a long time, but we need to get you out of there and up to speed,” it beeps out cheerfully. The war cries are heard from inside the pod, and the Ghost yells, “There’s no time to waste, pull the escape hatch and get out of there.” (In true Bungie fashion) You find the lever and pull it, but the hatch only opens slight. “The Ghost flies back to the window and offers the advice, “Why don’t you try getting rough with it?” (As you use your melee, it goes into an animated scene different depending on your class)
[The Titan tightens his hand into a fist and pushes the hatch like a boss. The door goes flying, knocking the Ghost away.]
[The Hunter pulls out his knife, puts it in the crack, and stomps on it to crack on the latch a bit more, he then pushes the latch up and open.]
[The Warlock forms a ball of void magic in his hands and presses it into the hatch. It rises steadily up.]
[The view switches to outside and you watch your new guardian climb out of the pod. They take of their helmet and have a look around. The Ghost flies up and says, “You better put that back on; we have company coming.”]
(Back to first person) Holding your helmet in your hands, you put it back on and the Heads Up Display (HUD) activates. The Ghost looks at you and beeps, “Come, we need to find a ship,” and disappears into your suit. As you head of the building, the Ghost exclaims, “I’m surprised that I found you in such a good state.”
You ask, “How long was I dead?”
The Ghost explains, “Hundreds of years. (Depending your race)(E: You were one of the Exo forces charged with guarding the Arks from your frigates. Many were shot down, but you paved a way of escape.)(H: You were on board one of the Human Arks fighting off enemy boarders. Not many of the Arks made it into warp drive.)(A: The survivors told of a large group of Awoken fighters that warped in to protect the last Arks. Your bravery saved many lives.)”
Arc bolts pass overhead and around you, not many hitting you. The Ghost yells, “Run!” You can see the Devil Archon and many Fallen if you look towards the fire.
Once inside the building, the Ghost says, “We won’t be able to reach a ship, unless we find you a weapon.”
You ask, “Are there even any weapon nearby?”
The Ghost performs a scan (like during the patrol mission) and says, “Ironically, there is a weapon cache nearby.” You walk down the hallway and take a few turns to find a locked room. A couple of zaps from the Ghost and the door opens. It says, “Grab some weapons and let’s keep moving.” You pick up a primary and secondary and head through another door that the Ghost unlocks.
Following a hallway, you come into a large and dark area. The ghost turns on his light and some red eyes glow off in the darkness. Whispering to itself, the Ghost says, “Void of light, the followers of darkness thrive.” Using the ghost light, you find another corridor and head down it. Another turn and out pops your first Dreg. The ghost sounds off, “Dreg. Bottom tier Fallen. Little to no armor or shields, but they will shank you if you aren’t careful.”
After dispatching it and a couple more, you continue down the hallway to a left turn. As you begin the turn the sniper bolt just misses you, and you back up while the Ghost is screaming, “Get back!” Flying forward, the Ghost peeks around the corner and another arc bolt flies overhead. “Okay not that way, Vandals are excellent snipers and they lead the Dregs.” it says. It looks around until it sees a hold in the left wall. “Mayhaps we could sneak around,” it wonders as it turns off its light. Using the little ambient light on the other side of the hole, you crouch through it and dispatch the Vandal and Dregs.
You continue until you come into the large room. [Cut scene activates and you watch the Dark Archon climb out of the hole in the wall to then sit down on the chair. There are also many Dregs and Vandals around him.] The Ghost suggests from inside your suit, “There is a door on your right. Run!” You dispatch the nearest Dregs as you dodge the gunfire (that certainly won’t miss this time) making your way to the door. All the while you hear the Devil Archon making a snickering, clicking noise. Heading through the fans and out the hallway, you finally are back outside.
Like before, the Ketch flies in and you fight your way through the Divide, gaining your grenade along the way. You fight your way to the Hunk-O-Junk ship. The Ghost says, “This thing is in better condition than I expected.” He flies into the ship and begins to start it up. In the meantime, you fight off a wave of fallen. As the Ghost is calling you to the ship, a Captain makes an appearance. You kill the Captain and are teleported into the ship. The ship breaks free of the cables and flies off revealing the Stranger watching you. At the same time the Ghost exclaims, “I can’t believe you killed a Captain! They lead the Vandals and Dregs and have the best equipment and shields.”
[The flying cut scene is the same, until you reach the Last City. As the ship flies near the tower, the right engine explodes causing you to plummet towards the city. The Ghost says, “I take back what I said before.”]
You warp out of your ship. It is crashed in the middle of the road, blocking you from going the other way. The road is a straight shot towards the tower. People can be seen nearby staring at the sight. Up to you walks your class Vanguard trainer. (Due to character variation I’m not going to add dialogue.) They make a comment about your crashed ship then lead you down the road talking about the city and tower. There are shop stalls, houses, and restaurants along the way. Children and animals are seen running around, and Humans, Awoken, and Frames are comingling everywhere.
You and your trainer climb a path to the tower. During that time, you see some ships carry yours upwards. When you two enter at the base they explain how most of the Tower is used for Guardian housing and how the Speaker and shops are at the top. ‘Guardians’ are seen around (but these are NPC fillers). The trainer walks you to an elevator and says, “I’ll meet you above, but I need to attend to something first.”
The elevator shoots upwards (going into a loading screen for the Tower).

Chapter 1: Home World Part 2: Warped Out You step out of the elevator and find yourself in front of Tess Everis, the Special Orders. She smiles at you and says, “You’re the new Guardian. Well, I have a scavenger hunt for you. Take this slip to the Postmaster.” Kadi 55-30 looks your way and buzzes, “I already heard her. Most of the time, I will be the one giving you things.” He hands back the slip and says, “Now take it to Lord Shaxx.” Lord Shaxx stares down at you like a lion watching a mouse. “New meat, you need to get your gloves a bit more dirty before I will let you compete with the others,” he growls out, “Hmm, I know what you’re missing. Welcome to the Tower!” As he hands you back the slip, he gives you the option between three class items. You walk down to your class trainer who says, “Don’t mind Shaxx. He takes the city’s defense training too seriously. (While taking the slip) Here is an order for a new weapon from the gunsmith, also take this engram. Master Rahool can decrypt it for you.” You take the order to the Exo Banshee-44 who gives you the choice of a new primary weapon. He whispers out in his deep voice, “Eva Levante asked me to send you her way.” The Cryptarch glares at you silently as you walk by, knowing that he isn’t getting that engram just yet. You find the Outfitter in her niche at Tower west. She greets you happily, “Hello! I always love meeting the new Guardians! Try a couple of these emblems, and tell me which on you like.” After picking a new emblem, your ghost chimes in, “Let’s go check on our ship.” Amanda Holliday Yells to you as you walk up, “Took you long enough, I fixed your clunker good as new, but it’s missing a warp drive. You better head back to the rocket yard and find one. “ “That settles it then,” your Ghost beeps, “let me know when you are ready to return to orbit.” [The ship flies back to Old Russia from orbit.] Upon landing, your Ghost says, “There is a crashed Guardian ship nearby. I might be able to extract some information for the area from it. I’m marking its location now.” You fight your way to the ship and deploy your Ghost. While you wait, a Skiff drops some Fallen who come towards you. Your Ghost finishes his scan right when you finish off the Fallen and beeps, “There is a terminal in a building nearby that I can hack to find a warp drive.” You continue to tear through Fallen groups like a boss while you head up the hill and down the basement. After zapping the computer a few times, an icon bleeps onto a large map on the wall. Your Ghost says, “It is…..right where we found the ship? This cannot be right, but let’s check it out anyway.” You mow down groups of Fallen as you back to where your ship was. When you enter the building, you notice a strange golden chest on a table. Pocketing its contents, you continue until you are in the open room. It’s empty until you walk into the center, then many Fallen Vandals and Dregs come at you from all directions. You fight your way to some cover and begin killing off the masses. Once the enemies are dispatched, you hear a loud roar, and the Devil Archon, Riksis climbs out of the hole in the wall with a group of Vandals. You fire at him and the Vandals, but do very little damage to him. At 90%, because you really do that little damage to him, the Stranger drops down and begins firing on him with her pulse rifle. “Kill the little guys. I’ll take care of him,” she yells back to you. After a couple of waves of Vandals, while the Stranger harasses Riksis, the Devil Archon retreats back into the hole with a screech. [The Stranger walks up to you and gives you a trinket. “The big guy dropped this,” She says. You look at it then back to her asking, “Who are you?” but she is gone.] [Ship flies back to the Tower.] The Ghost suggests that you take it to the Speaker. You turn it in to the Speaker who gives you a choice of a special weapon. (Once you exit the menu it goes into cut scene.) [The Speaker begins his speech, but this time you begin by walking down the stairs with him. After the cut scene you return to the Tower outside his room.]

Bump for effort, ghost dialogue for explanations of fallen ranks sounds too forced, but good effort none the less

Edited by Sagical: 12/5/2014 7:34:04 PMNot bad. More plot than the entire game.

Not reading this. I was promised rich cinematic story telling.
