Where is the "smithing" function in the Gunsmith shop? Other than a few weapons that are useful at low to mid level Guardians, the only real use of the Gunsmith is purchasing of Ammo Synthesis and occasional tokens of some kind to be turned in to him for rewards. What is needed is a custom wepon build system through the Gunsmith. We get wepon parts and materials from breaking down weapons. This allows us to upgrade, but not create. On one Exotic bounty we had to get a weapon frame from Xur. Where is the ability to choose frames, pick the buffs and truly tweak a weapon? Legendary and Exotics are great standardized weapons, but for the true Legends there are Unique weapons. What better way than to take things to the next level and make your own personalized weapons. The mods on weapons now are progressive with no options as to skip an upgrade that you don't want. We can keep the standardized wepon functions, but allow us to customize the choice of mods. Such things as pick a base weapon type frame, ot a heavy frame that allows maybe 2 types of damage that can be selected between. The frame determins the number of mods available with limits to damage ot other buffs so as not to imbalace the game. If we had the option to take weapon parts and materials to the Gunsmith, pay him to manufacture a weapon for us, then after a time depending on the level of the weapon it then becomes available through the postmaster. Specific weapon upgrades could be found as Engrams or bounty rewards, others might be purchased as common stock at the Gunsmith. This could also be applied to Armor through an Armor Smith Vendor. All in all, I love the game and have played it since day one, but all the exotics and legendary equipment allows for too little individuality for really creating your legend. Please Bungie, Implement a custom build function to allow more variety and individuality in the game.
